mj payload & towing capability?

Remembers correctly. -
I give up. I have been trying since last night to upload my drawings and can't get it load. I'm running AutoCad14 and XP Professional. Gonna call tech support ( hello,,How's the weather in India?" And see if I can get any help from them. I think my software got damaged and I'm just gonna have to delete and reload. PITA. Terra Wombat has the idea. Just to add to it. All material is 1/4in. There are 1/4 in spacers goes between the side plates and frame. Three on each sidee. Very back one is welded on the side plate. Helps installation. The other two are added after mounting the rear bolts. The side plate was cut from a 1/4 in by 10" by 14" steel plate. The two holes in the plate by the receiver didn't line up. Think the problem there was different bumper. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Image Not Found Notice 1/4in gap between end plate and frame. There's a bulge in the frame. Image Not Found 1/4 in spacers included with UHaul. Washers would work just as well. Image Not Found The two holes in the hitch did not line up with the two in the bumper. Image Not Found Rear bolt only shown here. The spacer is welded to the back side of this hole. Image Not Found

WOW !! A movie-TV star. Kin i have yer autograph? Reminds me when we were on manuevers at Ft Carson in Feb 1954. We were going to make the highest mass drop ever done at that high of an altitude. The whole smear, 900troops Heavy trucks, artillery, etc. Since I was from Pueblo, 30 mile S of Ft Carson the local TV was making a big deal of the Local kid. Filmed over 10 minutes of me prepping a M38A1 commo jeep for air drop. That night for the 6PM news the whole family, mine and my Future wifes were jammed in the living room, about 14 people. Came the big moment, The loading of A/C, The drop, the recovery. Not one scene of me. They cut everything out. Talk about a let down.

There has been a lot of discussion concerning the best penetrating oil to use. Lots of personal opinions but no facts. I am sending a copy of a article run recently in Machinist's Workshop magazine. They "scientifically rusted" a bunch of nuts, treated them with various penetrants, and then measured the torque it took to remove them. Here are the results. Nothing 516 pounds WD-40 238 lbs PB Blaster 214 lbs Liquid Wrench 127 lbs Kano Kroil 106 lbs ATF-Acetone Mix 53 lbs The ATF-Acetone mix was a "home brew" mix of 50-50 ATF and Acetone. Note that the "home Brew" was better than any commercial product. Note also that Liquid Wrench was as good as Kano Kroil for about 20% of the cost. I remember someone here was recommending the ATF-Acetone recently. Don't remember who but they can pop in anytime and say " I told you so" :smart:

Carrying rocks. Now if I could just get somebody else to unload them.

After everything was over the city of Granby was asking for donations to help rebuild. I offered a $100 to start a fund raising for a statue honoring Heemeyer to be placed somewhere prominent in the city. I never heard back from them.

The UHaul part no was 75021. I believe I got the next to last one uhaul had. Another CC member got the last one. Or maybe I got the last one, complete with red tag from uhaul stating 'DoNot Reorder'. I looked at the ones wallyworld has. I believe they are good units just looking. Be nice to find somebody actually bought and used one. I made patterns from the one I got and made 2 hitches from them. Worked out very good.

Why don't you call every tree service in the area and give them your neighbors address? Tell them she's taking all the chips they can deliver. NAW. :rotf: Maybe not.

Alternator repair parts and kits can be obtained from several sources on line. Try ebay first. The last time I ordered parts was 3 months ago so there are some still out there. Just gotta look for them.

Sounds like the voltage regulator. Get a VOM and check the alternator output. Shouldn't be over 14.5 Volts. The VR is inside the alternator housing.

aftermarket fuel level gauge
jimoshel replied to darkside's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If you have to, or just want to, you can use the one you got by switching the wires. The low wire from the sending unit to the Full wire on the gauge, and the full wire from the SU to the empty side of the gauge. -
Unless prior arrangements were made the mulch belongs to the tree co. They can do what they want with it. Sometimes it's better to just accept the fact that your getting the 'loving without the kissing, just to keep piece in the neighborhood. Or hope her hubby is more reasonable.

I've found the biggest source of electrical troubles is dirty, corroded battery terminals.

Dumb fog light question
jimoshel replied to alex_and_sean's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Fog lamps only work when the headlights are on low beam. Headlights on high beam or off, fog lights don't work. -

Where can I get one of these?
jimoshel replied to bighause's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That really is a bad design. That poor rod end does not have a chance on surviving. Might I suggest you pick up a spare? I think he was referring to the angle. It is kind of sharp. -
All the critters are coming out now. This evening went out to gather eggs and found a 3' rattler under the nests. Having fricassed rattler for lunch tomorrow, with egg batter.
