Really Dumb Brake Light Switch Question
Big Dan replied to Torq_Shep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It's finicky. It supposed to come from the factory with a spacer, that offsets it correctly, and it's ready to go. If that spacer if worn down some, that may be why you can move it and get brake lights. Potential fix is to line the spacer with something (tape/aluminum foil, similar) to get the offset correct again. There are no true factory adjustment procedures that I'm aware of. I ended up making a bracket and using a normal push style brake switch from a J10. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk -
Renix 4.0 fuel rail regulator?
Big Dan replied to Joe Doviak's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I would assume it would deteriorate the o rings. The o ring in your last picture is a regular injector o ring, if I remember correctly. The o rings inside of the regulator can be replaced. If someone else doesn't chime in with the part number, I'll look it up. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk -
Vacuum lines questions 87 4.0 4x4
Big Dan replied to CGCWO's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Without pictures, we really can't guide you well. However, please do a search. There are countless 4.0 vacuum line diagrams, on this forum, and those references will probably get you a quicker answer. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk -
The part scribbled in red needs to come off. When doing the job in the future, torque needs to be applied where the green circle is, so the red scribble part stays in the pump. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

This won't directly answer your question at all. However, to be safe, just get a Mopar pump for a 2000 or 2001 XJ. They're still available and you know you're getting a correct fit part. If you don't want to do that, hopefully someone can provide additional info on the question. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

I bit the bullet and paid the $200 for a Mopar, pre filled, clutch master and slave assembly. It hasn't failed me yet and it's been on about 3 years. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

I should have been more specific. When I said the pin out is different, I mean it's not plug and play. I assume most anything can work with enough splicing and doodiddling. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but, the pin out won't be the same. So, no, that cluster won't work with your renix era dash wiring Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

What are these things called and where can I buy them?
Big Dan replied to EUREKA's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Drain plugs. There are generic rubber sets, on Amazon, that you can get. It will be a multi pack and you'll have to see what fits. As far as a specific part number for the OEM plug, someone else will have to chime in. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
