  1. Could be you have an orange oil filter? I routinely hear of low oil pressure due to them collapsing internally.
  2. could also be the ground strap at the rag joint on the steering column snapped. No ground up the center = no horn
  3. Faulty stat that unstuck? Clogged cat (mine ran WAAAY hot til it blew it's guts into the old muffler and corked it almost solid!)
  4. My Renix rig has the EGR disconnected, so I used NGK BKR6EK plugs to kill the ping monster.
  5. Fixed it for ya. Sure they're real! Real expensive!~
  6. Depending which trans is on the Toy motor, you may be able to change the input shaft of the Jeep along with the bell, then only have to make motor mounts to fit it in (I've been looking into that)
  7. carnuck

    Moon visor

I have one but I've been kinda busy to post it up.
  8. The converter shouldn't need changing. Just the flexplate and the input gear on the tcase unless it's from the '96 (they swirled the splines from after '95 up)
  9. Nitrogen is a crock! The air we breath is mostly nitrogen anyways (almost 80%)
  10. I posted my lifted '87 up for sale (going to extend the '86 later) and listed the ad in my signature
  11. It's working now. Just thought maybe a heads up to people that any PMs they sent while system was down have disappeared!
  12. I bypassed the load valve in the back of mine and went to larger wheel cylinders for increased brakes (I had planned on ZJ front brakes, which I still have) Lockup on wet highway took a little getting used to
  13. Don't have a pic of it (would look ugly now because it got wet and fell apart) I had a console built in my '84 J10 (with buckets) with a fold up armrest (slightly taller than a regular Grand Wagoneer one) In the upper part I built in a CD holder. Later I will remake it, but out of metal instead of particle board. PS: I call copyright on this idea!
  14. Use ZJ 16" rims (if you check the pic of my '87 for sale you can see what they look like with 255/85R/16 tires on) viewtopic.php?f=24&t=26085
  15. I almost threw away the notification of a PM because it was gone when I looked for it.
  16. Yeah. I'll be looking for another one soon for my '83 J10 with 4.6 stroker and AW4/NV241 OR (4:1 from a Rubicon)
  17. Clean the vacuum hose for the MAP sensor with TBI spray.
  18. TH400 was available in quite a few different patterns. Chev was common, BOP (caddy) as well. Then there was the first TH400 which was made for Buick Nailheads @'62. The very first auto used in most Jeeps was this one with an adapter ring. Nailhead trans (also used in high powered European cars in the '60s/70s) Image Not Found AMC adapter ring still attached to my old motor Image Not Found The six cyls had Borg Warner autos till '72. @'74 AMC got TH400s with their own case
  19. I farted in it's general direction as I walked past (was too ill today to finish room mate's Ford trans. Felt chilled even though it's sunny)
  20. Also, if you have the multiport EFI, put in HO injectors.
  21. Belt is loose enough that it squeals when trying to put power back into the drained down battery.
  22. My clutch arm bent and I couldn't get the new master (and 2 "defective" ones after it put in by a shop under warranty because I didn't have time) to bleed. Put in the old one from my '87 MJ and Voila! it worked!
  23. Don't forget spline count!
  24. My FSJ ('84 J10) was going to be down for awhile for EFI upgrades and a stroker (still not done!) and I picked up the '86 4 cyl with TBI for $1,000 from a dealer who was scared because there was no clutch (they wanted $2800 before that) and a few other bugs were in it. I drove it 5 years, then sold it and got it back (motor pretty much blown at 400,000+ miles) put a motor in and sold it back to him. (in exchange for tree cutting)
