  1. could be brakes dragging too or clogged cat.
  2. Large quantity of water in the tank? Recently fillup with winter gas?
  3. The 247 is a Quadratrac II case. IIRC they are 29 spline
  4. Those are ZJ dealer installed 16"x 8" wheels. Don't know if all carry them but they are common around here. I sold mine a few years ago.
  5. ZJ Grand Cherokees (till '98) also came with 16" rims with the same wheel pattern.
  6. My fuel pump relay had moisture inside it. Swapped for my AC one and it's been fine
  7. I run the NAPA Gas Grande shocks made for commercial vehicles.
  8. Loose intake manifold bolts or a cracked spark plug or cap (even new they can get screwed up)
  9. Napa still can get the timing belt. (If they can't find the number. let me know. We have an Alltrom warehouse nearby) Did you know Mack truck runs the big brother to these?

    Got Wood?

Someone here in Seattle with a dark blue MJ put the woodgrain on it (I see it but never have my camera handy)
  11. The problem with 33/10.50/15s with stock style lower arms is that they hit on corners. WJ lower arms are the way to go because they curve inwards to allow room for wider tires. I had them on my truck with SOA rear and 6 1/2" TJ coils in front (for better ride. Closer to 5" lift) with an adjustable trac bar. I went back to the 33/9.50/15s and it's peachy keen!
  12. Speedometer cable broke on my '86 around the 400,000 mile mark and it kept going for 2 years more (new owner) I replaced the motor last year after I got it back (my son took the old one to rebuild. ALL the pistons were cracked and it still ran!) I put an '84 motor in with only 75,000 miles (had a bad timing chain)
  13. What's the number on the bearing? They may have it listed wrong or not have the alternate correctly listed.
  14. Got mine out finally. Got a zip for shipping cost est?
  15. Pressure is higher. You can't use the whole unit (different size/shape and wiring config)
  16. The ball is available through NAPA's generic emission stuff. I got one for my Spirit 2 years ago.
  17. Sounds to me like either the TPS is out of adjustment or there is a vacuum leak at the intake (EGR sticking open?)
  18. I wouldn't. Manual is far superior and doesn't wear out as fast.
  19. I'll be at my cabin and get it Wednesday. Wasn't feeling too wonderful last week. Found out they have to pull ALL my teeth soon! (they've been making me sick)
  20. Whew! The one I'm selling as a 4.0L auto fixer for $600 is in better shape than that!
  21. Is the cap on 180 degrees out? There is a notch that has to be lined up so the cap sits straight.
  22. You can go to a smaller bore like one used for disc brake early Mustang conversions to ease the pedal pressure needed a bit. 1" was common with drums, but SUCKS with big offroad tires. Going too small makes easy pedal, but the pedal goes down a LONG ways. Doing an XJ (from '97ish) on mine, but I'd sooner do a hydroboost (like manual brakes when the motor stalls. On a dime with 38" tires on my FSJ when running) Another thought is newer XJ or ZJ brakes with a bigger bore caliper and wheel cylinders. I replaced my rear wheel cylinders with ones for an Eagle (already had them for an Eagle I ended up scrapping due to rust) because they were bigger bore and I took the load sensor out, but I could lock them up (33") and skid in panic stops after that.
  23. They are about 2 1/2" and drilled into the bottom, but they are ergonomic, not round shaped.
  24. Is it lifted? That can cause vibes too. Mine has the rubber insert too probably. Shops won't cut those down because the rubber heats up and EXPLODES the 2 pieces apart while welding (I saw 1 bust through a shop wall back when I did driveshafts. Wasn't in my lathe, thank goodness!)
  25. Jesse was driving his (used to be mine) '86 longbox 2.5 5 speed (I converted to 4x4 in '02) in Tacoma about that time on his way to cut down a tree.
