  1. I'm trying to find out what ratio my dana 35 has. my jeep is a 88 4.0 auto lwb 2x4. is there an axle code in the vin? there was no tag on the rearend.
  2. do you think they use a different part number bc the splines are different?
  3. I'm waiting on a reply but I'm guessing it should be the same as the manual. in the 2wd swb the length didnt change only in the axle. swb,_4.0,____aw4,__________2wd,_____d44= 52.125"_d35= 53.125" * swb,_4.0,____ax15-ba10/5,__2wd,_____d44= 52.125"_d35= 53.125" * does any one know if the auto trans is the same length as the manual trans? does anyone have the factory part numbers for the drive shafts? i found two drive shafts for manual for around 100 and the auto 300. i might take a gamble and get the manual. for the price of 300 i would rather have a new one built. are the splines in the output shaft the same? i wonder if i could switch them out.
  4. the chart doesnt have the info on the 4x2 lwb. i email a guy on ebay who has a 5spd one for sale for the measurement, and i will compare it to mine.
  5. ok I'm looking for a drive shaft for my 88 jeep comanche 4.0 auto long wheelbase. the qustion is will the manual transmission drive shaft work? I'm guessing no, but doesnt hurt to ask. also if i have to have one made about how much does it cost and how long do they take? or where can i find one? i wouldnt mind a used one. need one right away
  6. man I'm sorry to hear that. just find out when your feeling better. health and family always come first
  7. do you think the forest green would show up on the black? if i could get it in silver would be perfect.
  8. ^^^ the driveshaft shop said it wasnt out of balance. and i havent done anything to it.
  9. if the driveshaft get any worse. me and my grandpa are going to heat it up and cool it down real fast casusing the metal to shrink. i'll check the wires. it does feel like its running rough
  10. u-joints are pretty good. the part at the end of the drive shaft that hold the u-joint in is a little lose. why they said they wanted to build another one. so there is nothing wrong with the driveshaft. ill check the tires next
  11. no its not lifted. I'm picking it up today. I'm going to ask them how they came to the decision that i need a new one, and how they tested it. going to check the tires and the sleeve in the trans. what am i looking for when i check the sleeve? i just remember when my uncle owned the jeep it had a bent driveshaft in it. also the tank is all smashed in.
  12. ^^^would that cause my fuse to keep blowing? i must have went threw 7 last year.
  13. ok thats cool. sorry to hear that
  14. its a one piece. its about 62in long. i was thinking the same thing does sound pretty shady. ill lookin in to my tires. also the transmission mount was broke. not the rubber but the metal. the back two studs were completly gone. i fixed that it helped a little.
  15. ok this is on my 88 comanche 4.0 auto long wheel base 2x4. i thought my driveshaft was out of balance. i took it to the shop. they said it was in balance, but its slipping on the inside the rubber part i guess. they said they could make a new one for 250 - 300 bucks. my question is would this cause my truck to vibrate really bad at 55 mph? i need my truck fixed and i don't have alot of money to do it.
