  1. If its not gonna see heavy wheeling why not just bolt in a D30,the 4 link will work better then leafs anyway.
  2. I had to fix the same thing on a guys XJ,I just notched the broken bolt with a cut off wheel and pulled it with a flat head screw driver

Yes it’s a fact; people who live in WA generally are better Jeepers. IIRC it was confirmed on Mythbusters
  4. Just because they offer a kit it doesnt mean its right. My first lift on the MJ was a 5" SOA kit,it set too high in the rear. The rustys kit looks even worse. It took 6.5" coils to get it to sit right.
  5. 4.5" is not enough to match a SOA,the rear will sit way too high.
  6. I've had 33x12.50s on my D35 for a couple years,I have a D44 for it just haven't got around to swapping it. I know a guy who wheeled a cherokee with d30/d35 on 36" tires with no issues I know another guy who broke an MJ 44 on stock tires
  7. I ran 33x12.50-15s. With 3.75"BS wheels on a 5" lift. It took some trimming but it worked,I am much happier with them at 6.5" though. Make sure to buy adjustable UCAs and LCAs so you can dial everything in.
  8. Mine has always had that issue when it gets cold out,I just cover about half the radiator with a piece of cardboard during the winter.
  9. I've had 2 so far with 3.73 I have heared of some early trucks having 3.73 but 3.55 was standard. Either way they never came with 4.10 which was my point
  10. That is incorrect the 2.5l with AX4 4spd came with 3.55s.
  11. Since you have an ax4 you probably already have 3.55s in the rear so the xj front axle will work but going to an ax5 you will eventually want to regear. What does the XJ have for a lift? An XJ 3" lift can cost from about $50 to a few hundred depending on how its put together. It may not be worth it to get the XJ. If all you need is the axle.
  12. I would get some nitro shocks,I had RRO hydro shocks and with the sway bar I still got a lot of body roll. I went to skyjacker nitros and it stiffened it up a lot, even with the sway bar disconnected its very stable. The ride is a bit rough now though
  13. Stock you have a 4 link suspension,5 link if you count the track bar.
  14. You currently have a 4 link. I would go 3 link or 4 link. What you call long arms are y links or radius arms. Really any arm configuration could be long or short arm
  15. You probably tore the sheet metal were the hinge is welded to the body, you have to remove the fender and straighten the hinge out then weld it up. If you end up needing hinges I suggest taking the back door hinges from a wrecking yard XJ. They fit the same and are usually in much better shape then the front hinges.
  16. Cherokee leaf springs will not fit a Comanche, different length. SOA on a MJ gives about 5" of lift so if you did get a 6.5" spring you would have an 11-12" lift.
  17. Your gonna need a lot more then springs to do a proper lift. If you go SOA with MT springs your gonna need a 6"-7" lift up front to make it sit right. V8 ZJ coils are only gonna give you about a 1" lift.
  18. You will want at least 4.10 gears with a 5spd. Why do you want a 242? Why not use the 231 from the wrangler?
  19. Unless something is wrong with your current injectors you most likely won't notice any difference in performance or fuel mileage
  20. 5.0l and 4.6l mustang,crown vic and probably a few others.
  21. First thing I would do is get rid of the stock sway bar links, you can extend them or do a sway bar drop. The sway bar drop moves the sway bar down about 2" and forward an inch or two to get the links off the springs. I would also look into some control arm drop brackets,IIRC you have straight lowers so at 6" your probably hitting the spring mounts on the axle.
  22. I ordered over the phone and just told him I was a CC member.
  23. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=31187&p=311059&hilit=conversion+seal
  24. Do you have any pics? A 3" lift should easily clear your tires.
