  1. The TPS on the 4.0l/auto has two parts, one part for the engine and one for the transmission. He probably didn't adjust it right
  2. When I set rigs up at the shop we use a forklift to cycle the suspension, then we know exactly what we need for shock length. I would find someone with a forklift or an RTI ramp, without cycling the suspension your basically guessing.
  3. I put 31x10.50x15 Maxxis Big Horns on my XJ,they seem to do well everywhere and where about $700 out the door.
  4. 3.4l is a direct bolt in, a 4.3l is not
  5. Honestly Jims offer of $300 is more then generous. IMO 86 has to be the least valuable of all MJs and the least useful year as a parts truck.
  6. $1000 seems a bit steep for a truck thats torn apart. Around here a running driving 86 goes for less then that.
  7. I also use 3m 8090 Whatever you do make sure you get one for headliners, most spray adhesives like 3m super 77 are basically craft glue and can't handle the wieght of the headliner or the heat that the headliner gets exposed to from the sun beating down on the roof.
  8. This is the prerunner front I made for mine
  9. I would get some good pics and a measurement from wheel mount surface to wheel mount surface. that should be enough for someone to get an idea what use they are to you.
  10. X2 Doesn't matter how good of deal they are if you can't use them. All D44s are not the same.
  11. That's not blowby, its a crancase ventilation issue. Its normal for a 4.0l to do that, there are some easy fixes for it.
  12. Does it really have a blow by issue or does it have the usual oil in the air box issue that most MJs/XJs have.
  13. FWIW I daily drove mine with stock arms and stock bushings for over a year with a 5 inch lift and no issues.
  14. That's way too much, you should be able to buy an entire 4.0l for less then that.
  15. Even as stout as your arms are you are still more likely to rip one off then you are a top link on a 3 link. A good 3rd link is as big as the lower links but sees far less abuse. Realisticaly the odds of breaking either are slim,I would rather have the 3 link for better handling, more predictability,no unloading, less binding. IMO Y links only exist because they are cheap and easy to make, they cannot perform as well as 3 or 4 link.
  16. Your worried about one link that is tucked up out of the way. Your entire axle is held on by only 2 links. Loose either one and you more screwed then a guy with a broken 3rd link.
  17. I guess I should update this, the shop is set up in Kalama WA and we have been building some things. Here is our current project, its still got a ways to go.
  18. The brackets drop your arms about 4" so with a 4" lift your arms would sit about stock angles so I would say you could go as high as 7" if you really wanted to. If you get the brackets I would just get adjustable arms and be done,it will perform better then a cheap long arm upgrade.
  19. One thing to keep in when deciding is that unless your building a buggy long arms will not flex any more then short arms with dbs. IMO I wouldn't bother with long arms unless you were doing a 3 or 4 link. I would take 4 link short arms with dbs over y links/radius arms.
  20. Cherokee shackles won't lift a comanche
  21. This is 33X12.50s when I had a 5" lift

Depends on the straps but usually 31s will fit fine
  23. Senior level Lift truck/material handling equipment technician by day. When I'm not doing that I run a fabrication\performance shop with my brother.
  24. Custom 6.5" short arm lift,SOA and 33X12.50s Toyo MTs
