Yes, it came off a YJ. my exhaust system isn't finished and its going to be all custom anyway but the downpipe seems to be pretty close to how the old stuff ran. I couldnt tell you if it would tie directly into the stock system but it seems like it would be close.

I just went out and looked at my Pacesetter and it doesnt have the provisions for the EGR, my buddy had it on his TBI 2.5l so he must have blocked off his EGR.
-
I think I would look for the correct size soft plug and put them in. I would think that the header would work fine with the TBI manifold though. Mine has been on both TBI and MPI engines with no problems.
-
Personally I wouldnt bother adapting the TBI unit, its a major flow restriction thats going to hurt performance no matter how good the rest of the engine works. Here is a 2.5l TBI unit next to a much larger 2.5l MPI TB next to an even larger stock 4.0l TB. Most people put on the 4.0l TB as an upgrade from the 2.5l MPI TB.

I have a Pacesetter header off a TBI 2.5l on my engine that I converted to MPI, it fit fine with the MPI intake.

The winch worked out really well there,my approach angles are awesome and it helps keep the weight back some. I measured it out when I was considering a 4.0l swap and my 10k would have still cleared where its at so you should have no problem fitting a suck down winch down there.- 798 replies

What is my rear axle
mnkyboy replied to Dustin_89sportstruck's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
89 could have 3 different axles. There's a D44, D35 non clip, and D35 c clip, they all use different bearings and seals. I see you went to Les Schwab so I'm guessing your in the NW, if your close I could tell you exactly whats in there. -

Got some more done. I got the external slave setup put in, the clutch seems to be working fine. I picked up an HO guage cluster and put it in, I also got a few miscellaneous hoses and wires for the swap.I put on some HO fuel lines so all my lines will look factory, I think it looks cleaner then the typical EFI hoses and hose clamps. I also did some port work on my intake, I matched it to the 4.0l TB and I also port matched and installed a Power aid TB spacer. Some say it makes a difference and some say it doesnt, I guess I will find out.- 798 replies

So far about the only thing that hasnt plugged in is the CPS and the rear harness since they ditched the two plugs for one 16 pin plug in 91. Otherwise everything else has plugged in between my 89 MJ,91 harness, and 95 MPFI. I did find that the heater sub harness changed too which kinda sucks since I didnt get it with the harness but I know a few guys parting XJs that said I can have it.- 798 replies

My wiper plugs are the same as well, I wondered if it would plug in at the firewall and work but I wanted to get rid of my factory rats nest of wiring so I swapped everything. Everything is much cleaner now.- 798 replies

Played with the wiring some more, i modded the harness to plug into the existing rear harness. Its amazing how much cleaner everything looks with the MPI harness, seems like I only put in half as much wiring as I took out.- 798 replies

The NOS fairy gave it to me, actually a buddy stumbled across it somewhere still new in the box.

I was gonna run 4.0l springs in my 2.5l but when I was crossing part numbers I kept coming up with the same numbers for both engines. I have a set of 4.0l HO springs I was gonna use but I couldnt find anything different about them. Also my Mopar stage 3 cam said it was fine with the stock springs so I just left the springs alone for now.
-
You will also need the front bearing retainer, they are typically $100-$120 unless your lucky and find a used one.
-
Nice, another 2.5l.

Havent updated this in a long time. The Falcon project has gone on the back burner so I can focus on the MJ, but I have still been slowly gathering parts,I have a brand new drivers side rear quarter panel waiting to go on and although I had already repaired the rot in the roof I stumbled across an entire rust free 2dr post roof from a drag car that kissed the wall at 150mph so it looks like I'm gonna be replacing the roof once I get back to it.

I have a set of those arms sitting in the garage, not sure who made them though.
