  1. thats my brothers Z1000,Its a great bike. Not quite as much fun as my 950 supermoto but still cool  .
  2. Eventually,i made it so it could go between the front tubes. I'm either gonna stealth mount it under the radiator or just put in a reciever and have it removable but I'm waiting till i get a winch to decide the direction i go. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with them yet but they only cost me about $8.00 a side at the parts store, might cost more then that to ship them. You might check around locally first, and if it makes sense to ship them we could probably figure something out. they are about 9months old and i have all the hardware.
  3. Well i finally got sick of my cheap plastic sport mirrors,i pulled some nice mirrors from a 96 cash for clunkers XJ at u-pull it.they should get me by till the right set of 97+ doors comes along. and here's my son,he wanted me to take a pic next to the truck. hes a 6year old MJ addict
  4. If you just want it out of the garage you could bring it to the shop i work at and i could play with it.
  5. Its crazy how few Portland members i see around here for the amount of MJ's i see driving around
  6. basically the drop brackets bolt in under the stock arm mounts and drop the control arms about 4" putting the arms close to factory geometry restoring handling and improving flex. the only big downside is you now have brackets hanging down so you give up some clearance.
  7. ive heard the 3 link flexes better then the 4 link and is a better choice for crawling but the 4 link is more stable at higher speeds then the 3 link making it better for desert racing or sand dunes. this would make me think the short arm with drop brackets would perform better then a 3 link long arm in the same applications. ive also heard of the y-links unloading, supposed to be even worse in TJs.
  8. this topic comes up but no one ever really goes into depth on it, short arm vs long arm is too vague. theres short arm, then short arm with drop brackets then 3link,4link,and radius arm long arm lifts which all will operate diferently and have different pros and cons. It would be nice to go into each lift, maybe make a guide to help anyone whos trying to understand the different types of lift and the applications they would be used for.
  9. i might be interested in the springs and spacers,Did you get control arms in your kit?
  10. those shackles look aftermarket or homemade. you should be ok moving the holes but i wouldnt expect much drop from it.
  11. what are you doing with the RRO lift?
  12. My brother had a few DTs when we were younger i think we premixed them all. I have an MX360 but i think its premix as well. I have had quads with oil injection and havent ever had any issues with it but they are all late model bikes, ive never messed with the early setup. Ive thought about ditching the oil injection anyway to unclutter the frame. I can get an electronic ignition and ditch battery/box then remove the autolube and oil tank,it should look pretty clean.
  13. the RD is a pretty popular bike for cafe conversions especially over in europe, which is wierd for a Japanese bike. I'm thinking something like this for mine
  14. I have a 650 rotax in my bombardier ATV, and a 440 rotax in a sled. I'm also working on a cafe project,I'm doing a 73 Yamaha RD350.
  15. I have an 89 2.5L AX4 4X4 that came without power steering.
  16. just make sure those corner pieces and bars around the windshield don't interfere with installing a new windshield later.
  17. I'm thinking this is in the wrong place,Arkansas is a little further then i would like to go

your right it is hooked up in the pic,it wasnt there when the car came in. the car belonged to the customers late husband, he had bought it new and did all the stuff to it. after he died she couldnt get it to run right so she brought it in with a box of brand new parts he had removed from it. the air meter was among those parts,IIRC she couldnt find the missing intake hose right away so we hooked it up to the homemade intake temporarily.
  19. ya i saw the pics i wouldnt want to cram that thing into the back of an MJ,after a day of riding. a full size truck with a good set of ramps wouldnt be bad though.
  20. your 87 should have 3.55 gears,if the XJ is a 4.0L auto it could as well. have you looked to see if the tags are still on the diffs? it should say the gear ratio as long as the tags are there and you can still read them. I would start there then you could look further to confirm.
  21. kinda depends on the quad,a small sport quad can easily be thrown in the back of a truck. I can lift my wifes Blaster in by myself. now a large 4x4 or multiple quads i can see how a trailer would be alot easier.
  22. That should work with a smaller quad,I don't think my quad would clear that but a trx300 might.
  23. I usually end up trailering mine, because I'm usually taking more then one. It is nice though to just throw it in the back and go. If you must have a roll bar and don't want trailer you could have a bar custom made at a fab shop, your honda isnt very big so you could probably have a bar built that allows you to piggy back your quad onto it. but as i said before i would just get a headache rack instead of the roll bar and the quad will still fit in the bed.

yes they can be pretty mean, turbo colts moved ok. the cool thing with the colt/mirage is an eclipse 4G63 DOHC turbo is pretty much a bolt in. Drop in a 4G64 block with a 4G63 DOHC head, stick on a big turbo and hang on Really the home made intake didnt work very well,it still used the stock airbox and filter and removing the MAF sensor made it run like crap. It was just a piece of tweaker inginuity
  25. that truck is almost too nice,I don't know if i would want one that perfect. I might not want to drive it and i definently could never use it as a 4x4 truck. thats why i like my semi beater,it looks ok going down the road and it doesnt bother me if i scratch it.
