My mounts are 3/8" plate. with an angled bracket that bolts accross the front of the frame rail that also captures the thin front frame mounting tab. I think JeepcoMJ is right though. my bracket is probably ok for just a bumper but since i have the tow points i need to tie it in at the through holes on the frame rail. I just need to take the bumper off and add another piece to the bracket, later ones will be one piece.

that is a good idea,i will have to change the brackets. this is why i built myself one first.

there 2 more brackets that you can't see in the pics, they run across the frame rails and tie both sides of the frame rails to the bumper. my brother who is 300lbs tried to move the bumper and couldnt, its actually mounted as well or better then my tow reciever in the back.

I made this for my truck and have been thinking of making more for MJs/XJs in a couple styles then maybe offering some other accessories later. What i want to know is what are they worth? I'm trying to get an idea of what someone might pay for one,Ive looked online and the prices vary alot.

ditto that. looks great. if you want to lose the middle light but keep the power i'd suggest adding a pair of smaller lights that would fit where you took out the middle light. for now we can build one for anyone who can get thier truck to us,as soon as we get a jig set up we will be able to ship them. I'm gonna stick with the 3 lights, when i build more i will let who ever buys them choose the light configuration. we have a light tab jig so its not hard to put some on before they ship.- 798 replies

Thanks, I'm kinda liking the 3 eyed look besides I don't have room to add a light and it works too well to remove one. I have an idea for another one that will use either 2 or 4 lights,i might put it on my XJ- 798 replies

not sure what else you need off the doner but you could always roll it on its side then gut it. -

maybe but the pay sucks  We are working on time and material costs to see what theses are gonna cost to make. these are tough to put a price on,if you look around the prices vary from around $400 to over $1100. I think what your wanting is gonna be a little cheaper then mine,a single tube will be alot easier to build.- 798 replies

yeah, your fab work is great. you should start selling those....they would sell well. just with 2 fogs instead of 3. 3 makes me think of a mutated frog (no offense) We are working on making more to sell in a few different styles, this was a test run to see how it would turn out. The 3 lights are wierd at first and have to grow on you,I ran a short trail through the woods the other night and they work great. the center aims forward and the sides aim out a little, then with the lights on the cowl aiming further out i get a nice panaramic view. it was pitch black out but looked like we were driving in the day light. I'm thinking of doing one with a wider grill guard, that one I'm thinking of setting up for 2 or 4 lights. we have a light tab jig that clamps onto the tubes so we can easily set up any configuration.

the old bumper was ugly. I kept having to drive out into a overgrown field full of bushes and small trees, i had the winch bumper from my old F250 so i just threw it on there. I am pretty happy with the way the new one turned out.

I gave my MJ a "nose job" From this. To this. Check out my build page for more pics of the bumper as i built it.

MY mj project(check it out) tell me what you think.

are those even doing anything on your truck? I would think with your big tires your hitting the wheel wells long before those even would come into play. -

looks like that one worked out real well, its not a bad looking truck how it is.

Sometimes you have to take a chance, sometimes it works out sometimes it doesnt. When i found my MJ it was about an hour away, the ad said "84 Jeep fourbyfour pickup runs and drives $400",and they had no pics. I got curious and it worked out good for me. Unless you want to pay the higher prices of the people who know what they have, you kinda just have to gamble with the people who don't.

mnkyboy replied to dunl's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Isnt this truck for your daughter,is she planning to use it a wheeler? that XJ should have had 3.55 or 3.73 gears which should be fine with 32" or 33" tires if she doesnt want a dedicated trail rig. -
Best source for new flooring
mnkyboy replied to DansGreyMj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My brother is in the process of rhino lining the floor of his YJ,its gonna be hard for water to get under that. -
theres a few different types of helpers, and i havent really messed with them much. hopefully someone will chime in that has more experience with them.
-
sounds like your problem is the springs not the shocks. I would get helper springs or air bags

Muffler Toast but now more power!
mnkyboy replied to jeepdoggydogB's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
the walker won't stay long, you have felt the power so when you drive with the walker its gonna irritate you. and eventually you won't be able to take it anymore and buy a better muffler.
