  1. 2.5,AX4,3.55 and 31X10.50s i usually got 17-18mpg, i havent checked it with the 33X12.50s but i can tell its much lower. I need gears bad
  2. I lit mine on fire  when i was tack welding some brackets for my first winch bumper i managed to catch it on fire  ,for now i have the hoses hooked together till i can get another one. doesnt help you much but i thought i would share
  3. based on your measurements you have about a 5" lift. mine measures the same with a 5" lift and 33X12.50s
  4. last sunday i went on a run with a small Jeep club out of the Coos bay area,It was a good time and they seem like a good group. I figured since theres members here from around that area i would pass the info for anyone interested in it. http://www.jeep4playoffroad.org

    Pre-runner MJ

he needs to decide to keep it,I'm tired of seeing the ad on craigslist.
  6. well rather then fix my axle i got another one, i got a non disco D30 from a 94 XJ with ABS so its got the big u-joints. should be a little stronger then the original axle. I'm picking it up tomarrow, then the MJ gets to go in the garage for a while so i can put it in and address some other issues.

when i bought my 89 the ad said it was an 84 :hmm:
  8. that Mac gun is a Nitrocat/Aircat gun by Exhaust technologies with Macs name on it, i have the same gun but payed $175 on ebay. Snap on also sells it in their side catalog for about $225 Its an awesome gun
  9. the Snap on cordless ones are really good but usually a bit more money. You should consider getting a compressor,a pneumatic gun will put out alot more power than an electric plus it opens up alot of options for other tools. my 1/2" pneamatic has 4 times the power of a good electric,i can put stuff on that an electric could never take off again.
  10. they are easy to install, basically you put the included install tool over the speedi sleeve and tap it on with a hammer. I use them at work but only when the part is expensive or difficult to find, they are about $20 each so its usually not much more to replace the part.
  11. thats what i needed to know
  12. I know my XJ has the non disco D30 but would 1990 with ABS have the larger u-joints?
  13. any decent brand 110V is gonna work fine for you,i would try to get one that will run gas though. Flux cores work pretty good and are usually cheaper but i don't like them much on sheet metal.
  14. i would check the linkage between the shifter and t-case and verify its shifting correctly.i think its either not shifting correctly or something is hung up in the T-case I can't see the SOA doing anything other then looking dumb and if you have used 4H before you would have noticed mixed gear ratios right away
  15. not sure how people are mistaking it for a diesel,if the 5.0L mustang intake isnt giving it away the spark plug wires are
  16. they say its a 5.0L Ford and it is chain drive, actually the chain drive set up looks kinda like a Donkey lift truck.the lift truck uses a kobota diesel hooked to a GM auto trans and runs chains inside the arms to power the wheels, only the arms are fixed. here's the description from the video Cams hydraulic Chain-drive 4x4, about 7 feet of up OR down motion on each tire: specs below Engine is a fuel injected Ford 5.0 V8 out of a '93 cobra mustang, c4 transmission and t-case out of an early bronco. 9" w/ 5.38 gears and ARB air locker mounted in the center (below driver) running chain gears on the ends where the swing arms pivot. Swing arms are hydraulically controlled individually or together, and there is coil spring and shock suspension as well. large chains running inside the swing arms turn hummer gear reduction (2:1) hubs at each wheel. tires are 39.5". The steering is linked through the swing arms as well and the steering box is mounted just infront of the axle below the driver. body construction is steel tubing (mostly DOM) and the total weight is 5900 LB.
  17. Its pretty much preference, either will be good
  18. Ive always thought it would be cool to build something kinda like that but with hydrostatic drive.

I would still take that FX4 in a second over the liberty, my 05 F-150 4X4 was a great truck
  21. this is incorrect, ive had many LPG lift trucks on the 5gas analyzer. they can kill you from CO as easily as any gasoline engine. because of this most OSHA inspectors carry CO meters with them into warehouses, you will also see CO alarms in travel trailers and motor homes, even truck bed campers usually come with them if they have heaters. LPG burns cleaner then gasoline but its still dangerous
  22. I think the guy with the HO is after your truck. says he needs to sell to buy another MJ not sure he is gonna get $4000 for it though http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/cto/1536262722.html
  23. I saw the add today as i was surfing craigslist, there is a bunch of MJs on there but yours is by far the nicest  At least most of the trades seem somewhat resonable,i usually get crazy offers. BTW i will trade you my 89 MJ with a broken D30 for yours if you throw cash my way to even it up.
  24. i thought about this too. i snagged one from the u-pull it but after looking at it i decided there just wasnt enough room. it ended up in my XJ be carefull when you pick your bucket seats, mine wouldnt go any lower then stock because the tranny tunnel is in the way
