If you you can get the case open you should find sub C size cells/batteries inside, the same ones used in RC cars. just pick up some off ebay or a hobby shop and solder them in. yours should be 2400mah but you can go bigger for more run time.

see you in september then

I know there were a few people interested in getting some work done. well i finally talked my brother into moving back up from the coast,so the tube bender and fab tools will be up at his new house in Amboy,WA probably take him a few weeks to get everything moved up but then he should be able to take on some projects

Installed 2005+ Dakota Bench (Pics Inside)
mnkyboy replied to comanche09's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
you lucked out  When i got my MJ it had some rotten buckets out of some car bolted to wooden blocks attached to the floor,my Dakota seats came with no brackets so i pretty much fabricated everything. looks like having all the brackets helped a bit. looks good though  -
ive broke a 30 but so far the 35 won't die, maybe i need to try harder

don't know if the 4.7 has gotten better but if its anything like the earlier 4.7 you couldnt give me one :ack: the Ford engine would be cool if you could afford one,I'm sure they want alot for them. but if i had one it would go in my EXP or Falcon before i thought of putting it in my MJ.

I did a 1641 dual port with a PICT34 in my last bug(1970),it was an improvement over the stock 1600 single port. It could almost get out of its own way - 798 replies

you can't tell from the pics but the mounts are 3/8" plate, probably overkill but thats what i had lying around. they extend back and bolt into the snow plow mounts on the frame and on the drivers side it also reinforces the steering box mount. you can get away with using the factory mount points but the bumper would be cosmetic only. here's some VW pics for you, this is my brothers 65 beetle and this is the normal scene at my brothers- 798 replies

if your comparing it to the 92 in your sig the MJ is gonna feel really slow. the 4.0L HO doesnt have much more HP then your 4.0L renix but it delivers it a whole lot better.
-
Has it been like that or is this new? My guess would be 3.07 gears is your problem

This is why i was careful to use the word "opinion". I have no experience with 3-links other then what i have read,I'm sure they have their place. I can see your points and value your opinions. mostly my point was that the terms "short arm" and "long arm" are thrown around very loosely and there is alot more to it. between short and long arms there are alot of different setups and each are gonna perform differently. there is also gonna be a difference between a custom built setup like yours and an off the shelf setup.

Soft front Springs, Your valued opinion...

I have the OME 934's but I'm using the RRO shocks instead of the OMEs. -
IMO 140k is still fairly low for a 4.0L mine has almost 100k more then yours and runs fine. I would do things like valve cover gasket, main seals, and oil pan gasket then put it in. while you are in there you will be able to look for signs of metal shavings or crap build up from lack of maintenance.
-
i wouldnt go any farther then a few gaskets and seals, the 4.0L is a leaker but at 140,000mi it should be mechanically sound
