Propane is best indoors, kerosene works well outside or in well ventilated areas plus they will run on diesel.

Painting Roll-Bar - Bed-liner?
mnkyboy replied to SuperWade2's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
a guy in my nieghborhood used something like that to do a two tone job on his F350. it looked good when he first did it but over the last few years it has faded and turned gray. on my tube bumper i went with a hammer finish spray paint, other then some chips from the D-rings bouncing around it seems to be pretty durable. It looks pretty good most people think its powdercoated. -
mine did something similiar. From the time i got the truck i noticed a small "pop" when i pushed the clutch,on my way to work one morning i went to push it at a light and it popped then locked up on me. I limped it to work and had a new master cyl sent to the shop, when i took the old one apart i noticed the spring had been broken and was causing the popping sound.the spring pieces got jammed in there causing the lock up.

mine was also a stage 2 hooked to a mild built460 in a 83 F250 4X4,it had 4.10s and 35X12.50s that thing guzzled gas but it could pull about anything. I lost it to a tree last winter :( my brother has a 79 Bronco, built 460/C6. not sure how much lift but it will clear 38s. the thing is monster

You made three mistakes. First, you took the job. Second, you came light. A four-man crew for me? @#$%in’ insulting. But the worst mistake you made– Empty gun rack.
-
the old trannies do seem to handle the abuse . i had a 3spd or "three on the tree" in a 74 f250 that could not be killed. the autos were not bad either I had a C6 with heavy duty packs in a 83 F250 that was pretty bullet proof. you must be hard on transmissions and/or you were getting poor replacement trannies. they should live longer then that.
-
you can get an Allison in the GM which is pretty tuff
-
I doubt that Fords tranny was stock the engine sure wasnt, build them right and you can tractor pull with them. IMHO the ZF manuals behind the diesel arent any stronger then the auto, the old 5spd does seem to be a little better then the 6spds though

88' Comanche info needed. . .
mnkyboy replied to AMC-MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
my in laws had a 6.5L,they had nothing but trouble with it. just remember the 4.0L seems to be the prefered engine around here, anything 2.5L related and a 4.0L swap is usually the answer. so expect at least one person to suggest it when you say anything 2.5L related I too have a 2.5L and no desire to do a 4.0L swap  -

:agree: with automan -
on my old mustang i gutted the cigarette lighter plug and put a button inside it.you click the lighter and it grounds the coil, click it again and it ungrounds it. my EXP has a switch on the ignition system and the fuel system,it has a bank of switches were the ashtray should go. if they arent flipped just right it doesnt start

actually it does mean something,I'm a lift truck/equipment mechanic and hyster used the 305 V6 and maybe some of the others but they are pretty rare anymore. I'm not trying to make you like the 4.0L, i just wanted to clear some stuff up. I got real worried that my XJ was blowing oil into the airbox right after i got it and i had the same idea about it as you till i researched it and found out what causes it. figured its good info pass along, might come in handy some day. -
I have a security camera aiming at mine, next I'm getting an alarm before i put in another Stereo :fs1: freakin thieves

Your right you didnt ask for any 4.0L info but since you were talking out your @$$ about the 4.0L and other people read this stuff and appreciate the info i decided to clear it up. -
