  1. Yup answered my own question there are 3 different type of output shafts
  2. I'm trying to put in a new/used transfer case a 231 to replace my broken 231. And the new one's main shaft that goes into the transmission seems to be 1/4 of an inch longer. Is this possible, can i switch the 2?
  3. darn, i was hopping i was going to have to head up your way and pick that truck back up. LOL
  4. So what happen to the farmer did i miss an update?
  5. A couple things i noticed by looking at his pic more closely is there is no sway bar, or at least one hooked to the axle, and no steering stabilizer shock, which i know you don't need one from reading some others threads on here, but I'm sure that wouldn't hurt the problem.
  6. I am looking a buying a 95 XJ, the owner says it get the death wobble every now and again. This Jeep has 7" of lift, coils and spacers up front, all quality parts, i believe rusty's off road. It has adjustable control arms, and lower arm brackets, Adjustable track bar, over the knuckle conversion. It all looks good in the pics and seems like all the right parts, the tires are newer and balanced well, he claims. The owner says he couldn't find a shop that would adjusts the control arms for him when they did the front end alinement. Does this sound possible? I am thinking about buying this Jeep and really never had a Jeep with more than a 3" lift, so I'm wondering if this should be a deal breaker? Or is this something that is manageable? Thanks
  7. You know its a good bon-fire when the cops show up to check on your house cause they thought it was on fire.
  8. I was at a local Junk yard in Westville IN and saw a 87 MJ with black interior, bench seat, and black door panels that looked to be in good shape. And under the back was a Dana 44, this was a factory 4x4 4.0 auto truck, so I'm unsure of the gear but would guess 3.55. I also had a plow mount but it didn't look factory. The yard said $50 for the seat and $20 for the door panels I didn't ask about the rear end.

    Synthetic oil

I have a close friend that works for Quality Oil Co. Its in Valpo out here in Indiana. He swears buy Synthetics, says they are the future! He uses Mobile 1. But i thinks its free to him. I have never tried, but he claims the results your talking about. He also says don't waste your money on Synthetic blends, cause there is no regulation on how much synthetic they have to put in.
  10. I saw a MJ on Ebay that look just like your truck, ladder rack and all. Can't wait too see more progress.
  11. Well I finally got tired of blinking my lights a random people so i changed the headlight switch and that fixed the problem.
  12. Don't know if it will help, but some times my brake light switch under the dash falls out of its little hole and the lights stay on.
  13. It did it 2 days in a row now i the last 2 days i can't get it to do it. Got to love electrical
  14. So i drive my 89 to work everyday 4.0, 5speed, 4x4. Has a H.O. swap done by the PO. And 2 times in a row about the time i get to work my headlights start tuning off then on then off then on. Not for sure what the problem is, i kinda looked at the fuses to make sure none were loose, but couldn't find a headlight fuse. Do they have relays? And could they be getting warm by the time i drive 30min to work? Or should i start checking connections under the hood?
  15. Instead of a wood base maybe you could use some old rims cut in half?
