  1. Oil pressure sending unit is under the no 1 cyl at the bottom of the block Pass side. Right next to the alt.
  2. Mine did same thing. It was a combination of the CPS and the plug on the injector(I have TBI 2.5). Recheck the CPS with a meter to make sure it is OK. Also could be the Cam position sensor in the dist. area. If it sounded like it wanted to run then it must not be being told to spray the gas at the right time for the spark to ignite it. Remember these things are real simple air pumps. If you can't make the explosion, go back to the simple. It runs on ether so you need to get gas in there at the right time. What makes that happen? CPS tells the motor where the motor is to know when to spray gas for the spark to ignite. eliminate each one and you can fix this.
  3. You must have a 4wd version of the tranny to 'just bolt it up'(voice of experience here). You can use a 2wd tranny after you swap the tail section over(includeing the tail shaft) to a 4wd. Find a new tranny shop is the best advice I could give you.
  4. Check CPS again. May not have just been loose. May have been bad.
  5. I don't understand exactly what/where you are talking about, but I thought the knuckles were cast so welding on them is real tricking. You could try but you have to put the knuckle in the oven before you weld on it and let it cool slowly.
  6. Here is an online source for the pillar lights. Partsamerica http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDeta ... ber=UL71CS can ship to you.
  7. IF You take care of them and keep them balanced. you could get 20 - 25 out of them. I amusing tham as offroad only tires. I run BFG MT's for my road/run a quick trail tire, and the Trxus MT's for offroad only use. That is the key. If you will run the roads at all for any regular use, you need to alter your list. Otherwise for the money they are nice shoes for the rig.
  8. trxus MT's get my vote. just don't expect them to last on road.
  9. I run a TJ with the 2.5MFI 5speed, 4.88, 35's. I still have 5th gear and it does fine on road and off. I run my MJ with the 2.5 TBI and the AW4 with 30's for now and 4.10's soon to go to 4.56's. It does ok and is very capable offroad. It is a little sluggish in traffic but it gets 20mpg around town and 28 on the highway. They are tuogh to beat when gas is high like has been said. My TJ sits alot and I drive the MJ just because of the MPG.
  10. In VA, you don't start your training until 15 and 6 mon. Then you have to drive with someone who is 21 or over until you are 16 and 3 mon.(person with you can be 18 if bro, sis, or the like). Crufew is 12mid-4am until 18. Passenger restrictions are only one during the first year except bro & sis. after 1 year before eighteen you can have 3. If this all seems like its way too complicated, you are right. We have laws that are made because someone did something dumb and someone has died because of it. Either way to pass the test and get you lisc., you had to know the rules and decided to break them. I am sure that there is a lesson here somewhere, and if I had to guess I would say its, "With every decision you make for the rest of your life there will be consequences. If you ignore them when you decide they will find you anyway."
  11. You could also try manually moving the control valve to see if it is bad.
  12. Check your diff. You may have the widely coveted 4.56 gears in that rear diff. If so then remember that before you do something with your axle or the truck.
  13. Yup you are correct about the fork. looked at the post again and saw that the driveshaft spin was not noted. I was going off there was no front shaft spin. check the fork. it could be as simple as a bad vacuum line or switch, all the way to a bad vacuum motor. either way jack up the pass side, pull the vacuum motor cover and shim the fork over so it is always engaged. You will be happier at the end of the day, or until you can trouble shoot the rest of the system.
  14. sounds like you lost the chain. High and low gear seletion is a colloar on the main shaft in the T-case. Front is just transfered by chain and if you loose that, you have no front drive. fork for the axle disconnect would not be the problem. you should have had a front tire driving at least spinning. look to the T-case and the chain.
  15. try adjusting the ebrake cable so far out it would take days to apply the brakes. this should help. you can also try a ggod penetrating lube like Knocker'loose it can seep inpretty well.
  16. Enough about the car. How many beers were saved????

  20. I am on here. myspace.com/tjbliley
  21. I did my swap in a weekend. Matter of fact I did it twice in a week. I had to tear it all down and redo it cause I did not check the tranny/converter before I did my install. Jeff helped me and so did a few others. If you start on Friday evening you can finish in time for football sunday night. You just have to have everything ready to go. If you have any questions just ask me or Jeff. We had to troublehsoot just about every issue I have heard of so far.
  22. Sounds to me like a bad tps, or injector/seal. There should be a port to add a shrader valve to that will enable you to check fuel pressure. you need to run it and watch the injector in the throttle body. see how much fuel is being dumped. use a mirror cause if it is dumping it could backfire in your face. It also could be the fuel pump. check that as well.
  23. Pretty simple. If you want to try and make it a little more reliable you can throw some money at it by replacing the sensors and vacuum lines, including the O2 sensor, MAP, AIC, and TPS sensor as well as the EGR vave. As always if you are replacing stuff you need to replace the CPS on the bell housing cause they will just die cause. Doing all this as well as adding a spacer to the throttle body, and freeing up the air flow before and after the motor with cold air intake and free flowing exhaust will make it run pretty good, for a pretty long time. I have to add there may be quite a few people here that will tell you the best way to improve the 2.5 TBI is by adding 2 more cylinders and a few more injecters by swapping to a 4.0 MPFI. If you want to keep it just do the basic stuff and it should serve you well as long as you take care of it.
