All, When I repaired my rear disc brakes a while back, I removed the solid brake line. However, I buggered up the nuts on each end. I called a Jeep dealer and they wanted around $160 bucks for a new one. I then went to NAPA and purchased a straight brake line and cut it to length and then tried to form the ends. I'm less than confident that my ends will seal properly. So, I'm looking to either buy a new one somewhere, or pull one off an old Jeep Comanche or possibly an old Jeep Cherokee. Does anyone know if a Cherokee brake line will work on a Comanche? Thanks for any suggestions. Regards, Robert

Thanks for the suggestions. I purchased a rebuild kit from NAPA. Nearly everything is being replaced. Too late for the one side at a time suggestion. I did take pictures though, but it was too hard to tell from the pictures which pads were which. Robert

There's a U-Pull-It nearby. I called and they have an 86 and an 89 MJ there. I'm going to try them this weekend. That's good to know about the difference in the short vs. long beds. Mine is a long bed. If they don't have what I need, I may be getting back with you Rock... Regards, Robert

While working on my brakes, I decided to go ahead and replace my shocks. I was "shocked" to find that one of the bolts was bent. See picture: I stopped by NAPA and asked if they had one. The clerk immediately said, "Salvage Yard!" Is that true? Unless it's outrageously high, I'd just as soon order one. Any ideas where to find it? Thanks, Robert

Thanks. I've been looking at different trucks lately to see what they've done and I really like the look of the Dodge Ram badges. Very shiny and agressive looking. The reason I wanted to know if they stick on is so I can place them in a different place when I have the truck repainted. One idea I had was to have them custom painted on although the cost would likely be way too high! I saw an episode of Overhaulin' where Chip Foose painted the name of the car where it looked 3D. I was very impressed with the way it looked. I've also thought about not replacing the stripes and moving the "Pioneer" at the backside of the bed to be a little higher up. Robert

Anybody know where to obtain new Comanche Badges? I'd like to have my 89 painted soon, and I'd like to get new, shinier badges all the way around. Also, do they stick on? Or do they require holes in the sheetmetal? Thanks, Robert

All, I'd like to change my automatic transmission filter and fluid on my 89 Comanche. I don't think it's ever been change. Several years ago I asked a repair shop to change the filter and he said that if he did, it would never work the same again. I recently read an article by "Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers" and they said that was a myth. They were talking about another vehicle, but I figure it would be the same for a Comanche. All, I've got my 89 up on floor jacks working on the brakes. While I've got it there, I'd like to change the rear differential fluid. Is there anything I need to be aware of before I start? As far as I know, it's never been changed before. Thanks, Robert

Recently when my brakes began to fail on my 89 Comanche I pulled it into the garage to work on the brakes. When I opened the Master Cylinder to begin removing the brake fluid I found that the fluid contained a bunch of gunk. After removing all the fluid, I found the bottom of the cylinder had some sort of corrosion on it. See picture.... Do I need to replace the master cylinder? Is there a way to clean it? What might have caused the corrosion in the first place? Thanks, Robert
