Thats good to know. I knew I liked you for some reason Eagle.

That sux. I would say that you need to check the ohms on the sender to see if its in range. if it is adjust the gauge to be correct. if not then you prob got a bad sender.
-
I know it goes against your better judgement, but you could always get a brand new sensor from the parts store. It may send the truck into shock to have new parts but it will only be temporary.

I use nocker-loose from CRC. it makes it so you can break stuff like that.

Try this site. http://www.gotjeep.net/speedo.html It has a chart to use.

Accomplished - swapped both front and reaar axles in my TJ since Sunday afternoon. Including rebuilding everything except the ring and pinion(had a local shop do that). Checked on most of my parts shipments but can't seem to follow up on a console and some carpet. Procrastinated - SYE Install(TJ), bumper install(TJ) and decal removal(MJ).

Mine is currently maroon. I am going to do the vinyl dye thing so if the interior is intact then it is useful. You can make it any color you want.

Or you could use these and piece it together and tell the "All Rusytys stuff is junk cause if you want to do a spring over you could do this or that' people to do some research before they open their mouth. http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchant.m ... _Code=Leaf They are spring under like stock but 4 inches of lift.

4.0 Stroker engine controls
tjbliley replied to cherokee's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Won't the 242 use the speedo gear from the case you have now. I thought it would. You can also make the axle disco happen by electric switches on the vac line and all you ahve to do is add a lunchbox locke in the front and its like a selectable. -
Aftermarket Front Bumper
tjbliley replied to summerinmaine's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It also gives you the option of running with a front cargo tray or fishing rod/cooler rack. Can never have too many cold beverages when you get back to base camp. -
Where areyou? Are you near Gore? You have a couple guys near Richmond (Me and mjeff) that could help you in a pinch if you needed to go yarding for parts.

I have a column shift and full gauges. I just count P-R-N-D-2-1. I don't need to have the thing on the dash. Plus if I wanted it that bad I would get a YJ column and make it work. I think the gauges are more important.

Sorry to hear about the sad news. I know you wife is glad her grandmother is not suffering anymore. Give her and her family our condolences on this sad occasion. I hope you can get yourself in the spirit for the obligatory bachleor party before the wedding. You are the best man. I will catch up with you soon.

Sweet. Welcome to the world of those who are informed about their engines. Gauges are soooo much better.

Advice on a Welder
tjbliley replied to JeeperjohnfromPA's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Home Depot rents MIG welders. Flux-core only I think. -
girls+some of my old clothes=sexyyy. don't have a clue why either. Now I know I'm getting old.... First, thing I thought was not letting my wife putting boob strech marks in my Jeep T-shirts. I would like to have to worry about my wife puting booby stretch marks in my shirts.

Ballast resister/ Fuel pump relay
tjbliley replied to Comanchaholic's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
IIRC it should be the relay in the middle of the three on the right front wheel well. if its out then you should not have power to the pump. make sure the 7 volts you are testing is not the sending unit voltage from the tank. -
They are the same as far as I know. I thought you were talking about the internal bearings.
-
is the high pinion a reverse cut gear? It may be different carrier which would mean different bearing. shaft would be same spline count and diameter so the shaft would not make a difference. I don't know for sure, so you may want to look into it more.

Bush Park Estates... it is on the left on your way down to Deltaville. I actually live in Hardyville. If you go past BelAir estates yo have gone to far. I would love for you to come down this weekend Unlimited, but I am working 3-11 shift  Sorry to highjack Jeff, I have a buddy who has a camper at Bush park. we go to visit him when we are down there if he is there. I will drop you a line when we are going to come down. I am replacing my steering box(durango upgrade) and radiator on my TJ this weekend, so I am busy as well.
-
Mine Came around on the TJ when she came outside after the 4" lift and said "It looks good but I think it would look better with 35's instead of those 33's". You have to love a good woman.

SWB. Where is the subdivision? my folks are on fishing bay.
-
I can stop by your way when I go down to my folks place in Deltaville. I usually use my MJ to pull the Jetski. I will drop you a line when I go down there.
-
It is on the tailshaft area. I just did the 2-4 swap and used my same speedo gear in the t-case. the hole is there. it just goes to a small plug and then wires run along the top of the tranny to the harness.

Boogered up wheel stud threads?
tjbliley replied to JohnQ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Craftsman makes a re-threading kit that anyone who owns an MJ should invest in. It is about $50 and it has SAE and Metric taps and dies just for re-threading. It can't be used to cut new threads but it is absolutely awesome for fixing old ones like on our trucks. check them.
