did a little maintenance on my 89, I pulled the carb off to clean it. SO MANY VAC LINES Pics :) it's a small car. this ^ made it easier to work on. off and ready for cleaning about half way done. I forgot to takes any pictures of it all back together, but I did take a video of mostly reassembled minus the egr tube check out my sweet stack Bro

yes a dakota ax15 will work but you need a jeep bellhousing, but what eagle has said is also true. also if you feel like doing unnecessarily large amount of work some toyota pick-ups/supras came with a variety of the ax15 that can be modified to fit.
