so i'm considering the above upgrade for my 44 I just picked up, but my research has left me with a few questions, the biggest being will stock steelies fit over this assembly, or will I have to get aftermarket rims? from what i've found people have said both yes and no :/ Edit,I also read that D35 disk of a ZJ will work with this, do they mean just the disk, or do they mean to whole set up?

pick up a MJ Dana 44 today. the place I was at said they had three, 2 AMC20 and one 44, but after 20-30 min of searching through their racks of diff we gave up and I "settled" for the Dana 44, I'll post a pic of it in the next few day :)

so I've done a little work on my truck, mostly swapping steering parts to try and fix my DW (only things I can think of are swapping the tires for a set I know is balanced and getting an alignment.) (no pics :( ) but I also got around to swap\building the buckets for my jeep :). so I started with hacking of the brackets from my bench seat. then did the same to the cherokee ones no pics aging :( then welded the brackets to the bottom of the bucket seat frame then took it for a joyride since it legal now :D.... so that like part one of many done for this thing :D poser shot and my new background cause why not.

87' Expedition build/project
Wiggilez replied to comanchekidz's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
thought I have never in person seen electric window controls for an MJ. I feel like yours are on the wrong doors. -
I believe it means, the block or top and bottom end were replaced, but much of the internal like oil pump, water pump other, were from the previous engine. don't quote me though, i've been proven wrong more then once about jeep things :P

it 372$ what rego stickers are like 80ish here? I'm sorry, i'm been drinking, coming on to CC after that might have been a bad decision.

I believe in one of their videos they say it mechanical.

this will probably only update as I do maintenance on my truck, but who knows. any way what I did today was change the oil in my dakota today, not to bad, i've gotten good at it over the three years i've owned the truck. but today I also did the trans oil... which easily took me a solid 6 hours(for both the engine and trans.). although this did include a trip (walking) to canadian tire and back, but that took maybe an hour. first I tried to use a gravity feed from the engine bay to the trans that took like 45min for one bottle. so not wanting to deal with that again I set up taking the interior of my truck apart to get to the shifter input and poured in the rest from there then put it back together, I think next i will get one of those hand pumps that hook up to the bottle. for some reason I needed every tool I own to do this.

i've never heard of a 3.1, but the 3.9 in my has been reliable for just shy of 200,000km so far.
-
They have a three part series on it, and I believe in the second one they say either a 240 and some other one, but can't remember off the top of my head. edit, they also state that models that are turbo with auto trans and towing package will have a diff capable of 4.10 gears.

saw this on youtube, taught i'd share it here, seeing as I haven't seen it around here. It's quite well explained

i think it might already be to late, although if I can get out there before April i'll do that.

cool, i'll check next time I'm out there

do you mean at the end of each leaf where they round off? also they are sagged because there is a whole cherokee minus the body in the back, unfortunately the box of that truck is the only place I have to store the extra parts :(
-
yeah, I was looking at the pics and I was over looking at it today, I think it might actually be a 8.25, I saw it under the cherokee before they pulled it. oh well, live and learn :)

went and spent a few minutes over at the MJ today, and I saw this, I know that the MT leaf pack has 5 leafs in it, so I was wondering if thats what I got or if theres just a AAL in there? [/uR Thanks for any help :)
-
Thanks :) I wish I could work on it, but its cold out :( and its sitting at my parents rental house till summer :/

Is that red truck in the background another comanche? or just a random truck?
-
It's been a long time since I updated this, long time, I haven't done much to the truck, other than completely striping the donor XJ for this project, I did however just pick up a new part for it :) A 1990 AX-15 :) I paid 260$ for it, not bad considering it was pulled out of the vehicle and put in my truck without me having to turn a wrench. :)
-
The front should be fine, as the MJ's and XJ's front suspension is identical, however, depending on what type of lift your being offered it won't fit on the back.

Making The Thunderbird Great Again
Wiggilez replied to Minuit's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
Nice. I almost bought an older version of this car, it was an 88 (I think) with the 2.3L turbo, just didn't have the extra cash at the time. (still don't) -
Question about SOA leaf conversion for front axle
Wiggilez replied to Jargon's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
SOA actually stands for (Spring Over Axle). It doesn't specifically have to do with front or rear, just weather or not the suspension is leaf sprung, the other option is SUA (Spring Under Axle). Our comanches are leaf in the rear and control arms up front, same as a cherokee. Judging by your sig you have both a cherokee and a comanche, if they are both stock, your cherokee should have SOA, and your comanche SUA, take a look :) also a reason why one would go SOA over SUA, at least on our truck, is that it's a cheap way to get around 5 or so inches of lift. (there's a bit more work though...and welding) I hope this help, I also hope I'm right :P- 22 replies

It kinda reminds me of the landrover roofs. Still, does look nice.
