"full time" light randomly coming on
Wiggilez replied to dkmcgowan's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I don't know if any mj got the 242 (full time) case but the xjs did, and the xj and mj share a dash a gauges. So it could be possible that thw wiring is there just unused? -

Direct Mount Coolant Temperature Gauge
Wiggilez replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
looks nice clean too, also completely off topic as a canadian your rad cap looks weird, simply because it doesn't contain the french warning that things meant for sale in canada are suppose to have. -
so that's what the bleu thing is on the xj harness. guess I got one too then.

This is a bad way to discribe it but its like a built in alternator/generator attached to the crank.
-
If you buy the mj there is less electrical work to do. Also unless it was swapped in the mj never got the 8.25 as a option just the d35 or d44

I'm just assuming his quad thingy functions like my two stroke dirt bike where the stator provides the electricity for the spark.

took a small break from doing electrical to fix the gaping hole in my driver side floor. I started with a cardboard template then traced it on to sheet metal. not done yet, but this is where it's at then I got slightly distracted and took apart the abs unit to see what was inside the mercury switch I then called it a night after having a small ecological disaster by braking the mercury switch trying to remove it

what about the stator (not 100% sure that's the right name) if you have no spark maybe there's a problem with the coil or magnet?

Flipping Leafs Backwards To Gain Wheelbase?
Wiggilez replied to fmaster7's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
it should a little of center, so when the bed is loaded down and things compress the shackle will move out (back) and things will center up instead of hitting the back of the wheel well. but yours does look kinda to forward. -
I taught the ZJ's were the same other than the fact that some of them had quicker ratios.

looks nice, I'm jealous. Also the front looks a lot wider, do you not have spacers on the 8.8?- 80 replies

I'm probably going to keep the stock system until I find something better that I like.

option 3 is my backup plan Probably the best till you get a 95 XJ booster. Hope you aint planning on trying to use any of the ABS stuff, pump etc, its all or none, even if the ABS isn't working proper (no anti lock feature). You could end up paying a lot of money to make the ABS work and IMHO aint worth the cost to get the benefit if you can get the ABS to work. If it's a safety issue, you should get a more modern vehicle with a better engineered ABS system. oh well, I only wanted it because it was a little more compact.

will the mechanical speedo swap from the 231 into the 242?

got busy today putting some of the wiring back in I had to rework some of the body to get the connect to fit, you can see the clean spot where it wouldn't fit litte bit of hammer time and it fits. also does anybody know what that black and white wire does or where it goes to. close up of the wire. also this wire, it's not the abs one or the one to cpu see you later space cowboy.
-
yup, and they're hella expensive.

So the parts Xj that I used had the bendix abs system. so the engine bay brake area looks like this (for those who haven't seen it) I drove the part's XJ for a monthly or so before dismantling it to make sure everything works, the brakes worked very well, but the abs not at all, So my question is. Can I remove/bypass all the abs components from the engine bay and just use the reservoir and the electric brake pump pic of pump Thanks.

No pics, but I got my sending units swap clutch and brake pedals and the brake master cylinder.

Primarily Edmonton, i do still past through calgary every now and then on my way down to Lethbridge.

I finished re-plugging my loom today, one done both done, I then cleaned up the wires that weren't used from the xj like the rear wiper and defrost, No pics of that. I'm done the wiring bit of the swap. it's something so small in size, but I feel so accomplished now that it's done :)
