If you end up buying the seats , here's the bottom cover . I seen the top somewhere but don't remember where . http://m.ebay.com/itm/88-89-CHEROKEE-LEFT-FRONT-SEAT-CUSHION-COVER-VINYL-NOS-/280671034900?nav=WATCHING_ACTIVE -
Impossible Oil Pan Gasket Leak
Strokermjcomanche replied to caseyrstewart's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Any idea what brand of oil pump or oil pan you have ? In addition to the above advice you may have issues with the oil pan not being able to clear the oil pump if the oil pump is indeed a high volume pump . The pump Is right by where your leak is at .. -
OEM and Rust Free - Rocker Panels and Cab Corners
Strokermjcomanche replied to 500 MJ's topic in Wanted
The cab corner numbers are 57000858 / 57000859 , I'm not sure on the rocker numbers . To the best of my knowledge I don't think anyone has new cab corners in stock anymore . -
Sorry for the lack of updates as I haven't had much time to work on this after starting the new job in February . The 95/96 xj booster is installed ( no pics but it has been done many times over lol) . My brother got married on the 19th of March so I got to spend that week in Colorado at his house . While I was there I was able to meet up with Yellaheep ( who I bought this truck from ) who didn't live far away from my brother . Yellaheep is a great person and we went for a ride to his storage place in style with the SRT 8 Grand Cherokee ( it's fast !!) I was able to look through his stash of quality parts and was able to purchase a grey leather wrapped steering wheel and a shifter boot ( I had limited room in my luggage lol) I would recommend buying from him as his stuff is as described . I tried to make it to Jimoshels place too but time didn't allow it . I also picked up some power window wiring , limited dash speakers ,limited door panels , rain guards , OMESD40 steering stabilizer and OME60052L front shocks . Started to clean the xj 4.10 8.25 rear axle , I know I have to move the perches and remove the shock mounts ,but I wanted to see if the flat or semi flat paint looked better . I think the semi is the winner .

My doors weren't locked because I recently lost the only key I had -- ironically when I took it with me to get a new one cut, so yeah shame on me for it not being locked and not getting replacements... however losing the key & the truck being stolen happened in the same month, and here in the great white north we can't just walk into a Napa and get "proper" replacements. It's really a shame that you have to lock something up to keep the thieves out .id like to point out that there's been times I've forgot to lock my doors too and it only prolongs a thief breaking in . The real issue is the thief , if you find him ( you got him on video ) throw the book at him !!!
-
Kudos for having security cameras , couldn't you have locked your doors though ? Hopefully you can scavenge what good is left on the truck .

I love SKF, but Tinken offered similar quality for less most of the time. I can check and see what kind of deal I could get on SKF bearings as the parts store I worked at carries them and we always murdered everyone else's prices . Give me some part numbers and I can see what they go for .

Anyone know what this is?
Strokermjcomanche replied to caseyrstewart's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Is it supposed to mounted or connected to something? To the upper bell housing bolt . -

Vent tubes for the trans / tcase . -
I looked at that for a front 4.10 axle , that was from a towing yard right ? If you don't fix it is buy the front axle if it's 4.10 . Let me know if you need parts ...

lights under driver side dash
Strokermjcomanche replied to Newton's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The first picture are the lights that are supposed to light up the switch symbols on the dash ( fog , power comfort , cargo light ) on a xj ( defrost , rear wiper and extended idle switch . The bulbs should be a number 74 . -

Strokermjcomanche replied to Strokermjcomanche's topic in Wanted
I was originally going to use those but the guy that had an NOS pair has not responded to several of my emails as of 2 months ago . Seeeger : thanks for the offer but I'm looking for the numbers I posted above . I located a black pair while I was in Denver for my brothers wedding but after i do some more measuring I may need at least one more side, if not then I'll need two pairs (4 total) . -

that little power transmission switch
Strokermjcomanche replied to mik666's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
There is a thread where you can just install a fuse in place of the switch to insure it works . Let me look for it , I think it was made by cruiser54 or Hornbrod . -
After all the talk about going to see you Jim , I can't make it . All of my brothers wedding plans and the 2 hr 15 minute drive one way kinda put an end to that , sorry to have wasted everyone's time that was involved .

Interesting .

Wasn't it painted white ? I know the truck it cam off of .

You are about an hour and 15 mins away from Jim. It is worth the visit Adam. Agreed. X1000I'll see if well both have the time to do so , I'll try to pm him for an adress ( unless Ben wants to pm it ) I'm supposed to meet with Yellaheep sometime this afternoon .

Here's some eye candy for you , Pikes Peak . A friend of my almost to be extended family works at pikes peak and gave us the after hours tour that included some target practice and a venture to the top of the mountain . We drove until we hit a large patch of ice at about 13,000 feet right before the switchbacks , I was shaken up a bit and we turned around and went back down .

I'm in Parker Co right now visiting , but I think you're a long ways away from me .

What should be in the box ?
Strokermjcomanche replied to Strokermjcomanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I received a call back from the Chrysler complaint hotline . Lol what a joke !!! They told me that they were going to do an internal review to see if anything needed to be changed and to see what they could do to help me out . Well the matter of fact is : There is no Mopar shocks available !! Duh How are you going to help ? I asked the lady if anything would be done , she strongly implied that nothing would be done . Way to go Chrysler. I guess I learned that as long as it's in a certain box , you can call it whatever you want . -
What should be in the box ?
Strokermjcomanche replied to Strokermjcomanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well here's the explanation of what happened . The actual factory numbers have been discontinued (4897413ab/ 52087777 ). Chrysler has a Vline brand and they shoved random aftermarket shocks ( in this case Monroe ) in the boxes calling them mopar , very misleading and wrong in my opinion . I called the complaint hotline and expressed my concerns about how unethical this all seems. If I put a Timex watch in a Rolex box , is it a Rolex ? Is it worth a Rolex ? Looks like the seller will be getting the shocks back and I'm back to the drawing board . -
