  1. The hole was too small , the castle nut wouldn't tighten enough to put the cotter pin in . Maybe a shorter nut ?? I will try to compare the newer and older and see if there are any differences . Thanks
  2. So I bought this^^ plate ( along with another sellers plate of this same side to adapt for the left side ) and the package arrived in the mail a couple days ago . I went to bring it inside and noticed the box was rather light , that's because he sent an empty box !!!!!!!! It was all sealed and the label said the shipping weight was 0 LBS 5 OZ . I contacted him and he said that he's not in the business of shipping empty boxes and obviously he shipped it to me and acted like I was ripping him off . Anyone have access to either side of these plates? Everywhere I've checked has said it's discontinued . Thanks again .
  3. Tried to install this today along with the frame side bracket from a 95 XJ . The taper doesn't seem correct , what bracket do I need to get for this to work ?
  4. Here's a picture including both the piece yellaheep is talking about ( on the left) and the other between the fender flare and body on the right , ( it's the broken piece lol)
  5. 88 swb with 3/2 metric ton springs in rear and 3.5 OME springs (2934) and shocks (60052L) up front . On some of the older threads I've read most if not all of the OME shocks like the N40L have been discontinued . With the truck sitting on the ground I have a measurement of 22 1/4 inches from stud to stud and I'm looking for the correct shock . I bought a pair of N190 shocks but the bushings are too small to fit over the shock mounts and aren't able to be changed . I'd prefer a bolt on shock so I don't run into this problem again, but if you are 100% sure they'll work I'll change bushings too . Thanks on advance .
  6. I know where a 98 2.5 std xj is that was complete as of 3 weeks ago , should still be there at the JY As said above , roughly 94 . Or here's one , https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/pts/5572106371.html
  7. I'm going to the yard tomorrow, I'll keep an eye out ..
  8. Are you looking for 2 or 4 door panels ?
  9. If you use felpro gasket # 35630 it seals better than the original felpro 35024 .
  10. It does , but it's already in the yard ..
  11. I'm still in the process of locating a hp30 4:10 axle , but the 3:07 axle currently in the truck is in good shape . I'm debating on putting it on now or just waiting till I find an axle / regear and I have the WJ LCAs to install too .
  12. Thanks for all the help guys !! Bushing is on the way ... A friend gave it to me and I only have the cost of the bushing , I just need to swap the frame bracket with a newer Xj one . I really like this style too , as it doesn't need to be taken off to adjust it . Thanks again guys ..
  13. Anyone know what brand this adjustable trackbar is ? I need a new bushing for it and would be nice to know where to order one , unless they're all the same . Thanks .
  14. Have you tried using truck cap tape ? It's foam and has an adhesive side . I also use it between my gas tank and straps to prevent rubbing . http://m.ebay.com/itm/FREE-SHIPPING-Truck-Cap-Mounting-Tape-2-inch-x-30-feet-VOLUME-DISCOUNT-/190885010008?nav=SEARCH
  15. I have a couple roof sections if you need a patch . I'm in Youngstown .
  16. I have a couple 2dr xjs near me at pull a part , ones pretty clean and the other isn't . I'm not sure how I could cut you the panels you need because they don't allow power tools in their yards . Any ideas from anyone ?
  17. http://comancheclub.com/topic/44456-aw4-shift-cable-woes/?fromsearch=1 http://comancheclub.com/topic/43053-hole-in-firewall-for-floor-shifter-cable-aw4/?fromsearch=1 If you have the floor shifter the cable should exit the hole by the trans tunnel ( circled in yellow on the links provided ) . On column shift models the cable exits towards the drivers side of the booster . Here's a pic of where the shifter cable exits on the column shift models .
  18. Yes I'm 4x4 , but 3:07 gear ratio . I already replaced the Dana 35 with an c8.25 that I picked for $75 . I got a quote of $800 for a regear with spicer parts , if all else fails I will do that but I'd rather buy a decent axle as this will not be an off road rig .
  19. Good news : I finally found a Dana HP30 with a 4:10 ratio out of a 98 XJ and it's only a hour away . The not so good part : The axle has 202k on it and he wanted $600 . After telling the guy how much I paid for the rear axle with the same ratio I got him down to $500 ,then $400, and he said that's his bottom dollar . Is the axle worth it if the gears and axle ARE in good shape ? I don't plan on using the 4wd all that much but don't want to buy a boat anchor either . I have new calipers and hub bearings and plan on putting new ujoints in anyways , so those are not a concern to me . Thanks in advance !!
  20. Noticed in another thread you have the 2.5 . The sensor is on the top of the drivers side head near the firewall .
  21. You can park the truck on a hill or if you have a temp sensor that is at the top of the head you can remove it to let the air out . It doesn't need to be running .
  22. You probably had an air pocket in the engine . Are you certain you got the correct rotation water pump as well? You should also have changed the thermostat when you changed the water pump .
