Installed a new wire-less Back-up camera (got it for X-Mas ) . Since I put on the Softopper , reversing was pretty much parking by brail but now its worry free . The unit has a infra-red feature so the screen image looks like daylight even when its pitch black at night  Also the signal booster picks up our local hiway cams placed at all the usual traffic jam areas

:clapping: Good job ,( 4000 potential Fiat 500 buyers must be answered I would hope ;) ) Ya don't get if ya don't try

One line goes to the base of the throttle body ( valve cover side ) next to the CCV line (from the valve cover ) . The other connects to intake manifold (rear-ward ) at a t-junction that also has a line going to the MAP sensor on the firewall . These two are a common cause of high idle / vacuum leaks .

 Yikes , we have all been there . I'm convinced there is no such thing as fixing one thing on our MJ's , inveriably it always leads to multiple repairs . Hang in there

The " Mistress " always was one of my favorite MJ's , kinda nice to see her again . :clapping: Isn't it time for you to get another project going

I feel for you , BUT , this is not the best place to vent your problem . I learned way too late , (between my 4th & 5th wives ) the secrect to success is knowing a simple check , All females have a " best before date " under the hair on the nape of thier neck . It's a little late now , but my my guess is , it's expired :dunno:

 I've been tracing/tracking the back-up circuit on and off for the last couple weeks to no avail because I thought they worked on the turn/signal fuse circuit :dunce: I've been following this post , put in a new 10 amp fuse in the trans location .....Problem solved  Thanks guys

The ignition switch is on drivers side of the steering column down near the firewall and actuated by a rod from the key lock on the passenger side just behind the steering wheel . If you replaced the key switch it's very easy to jar the cog-gear (clocked wrong) out of sync with the toothed track that pulls the rod to the "ignition switch " on the lower column. WHEW.....That switch (below ) can be adjusted by loosening 2 small bolts and moving it up/down slightly to get your key switch back in sync . Or pull the switch and re-align the gear-cog and track . Try a search here for illustrated tear downs in the Tech section

Look all your vacuum lines , disconnected ,cracked , leaking will cause high idle in any motor . Start at the intake and trace/follow each line ( and look for ports w/o hoses attached ) eg. to the transmission  Let us know how you make out :wrench:

:USAflag: Gallon =3.8 liters...... ( $ 4.14 gal ) :Canadaflag: Gallon = 4.24 liters ( $4.62 gal ) Here on the west coast its $ 1.20 /liter in Tsawwassen , or next door in Pt. Roberts USA its $.91 / liter . So many Canadians buy gas there the pumps are in liters & Canadian dollars , its only 6 blocks from my house :D

:wrench: I guess I'm lucky to have found a local guy (Aaron @ Certiguard ) who actually comes in under his quotes and warranties his work . He and his guys also fix the little things they find while working on my truck ( a zip tie , screw , clamp ,etc. ) that I notice sometime after the service . They have no problem if a job is better sent to another shop if thier equipment / experience can't handle it properly .

Yes , CCV (crank case ventalation ) tube , narrow dia.plastic , from valve cover to base of throttle body / intake .

ICU (I think thats the correct ) malfunction causes symtoms simular to a coil going bad , I had the same break down you discribe and my local shop traced it to the "ignition control module ". Replaced it and it's run fine since . -

vaquaro replied to Mike Stone's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs

 You might try a "pusher" elec. fan , controlled by an adjustable thermo-couple . I use this system ( Flex-O-Lite ) in conjunction with the stock clutch fan and it works very well .

Seems like "the pub" is the best place to post new pub tech
vaquaro replied to 91coMANche's topic in The Pub
Alberta, British Columbia, and Yukon Territories. Not single good beer was found in the liquor stores, just miller, coors, labate, molson, kokanee, moosehead, etc. There's gotta be some decent beer in Canada, I just couldn't find it. Of course, I'm a beer snob, which comes from living in a town with 8 breweries. :Canadaflag: Rickards Red / or Black, Okanagan Springs , Granville Island , Howe Sound , or when all else fails ....Guiness
