    Softopper

Finally got off my wallet and ordered a "Softopper " fold-a-way canopy . I've been thinking about it for a year or better and decided it was the best option for my needs . Planning to have a toneau made ( modify my current one )to fit on the Softopper rails for better visibility in city traffic . I'll post some pix in a couple weeks . :D

  8. :agree: Truth be known , the Orca interuption made the day for me !
  9. The Sockeye were running Saturday so it seemed like a good day to go fishing . They were jumping all around the boat but but nary a bite...... here's why
  10. Nay , thats the metric system we use up here , to convert to mpg : divide "282 " by liters used per 100 kilometers ( eg.- 11.5 l / 100km = 24.5 mpg ) :smart: The conversion to Euro/Metric never did get completely accepted in Canada so both SAE & metric are used :hmm:
  11. " AIR-CARE " shows 10.4 l / 100 km for the 2.5 ,2.8 & 4.0 FWIW my 2.5 gets 11.5 (summer) 13.0 ( winter ) mixed city /freeway , have no idea why the big spread other than winter ethenol at higher ratio ? ( always buy my fuel @ Pt. Bob , I'm about a click from the border and it's $0.25 / liter less than Tunnel Town ) Good luck on the "pretty Blue " sale .
  12. :hmm: This defence of the V6 wouldn't be because yours is for sale on CL and your not getting any offers ?

    New to C.C.

:wavey: Welcome , tell us about your MJ :D
  15. YeeHaw
  16. We have very strict gun laws here in Canada , registeries & licence required for all weapons , hand guns even tougher , EXCEPT in cattle country (un-officially of course ) where we wear our side-arms on our hip and our long guns in the saddle scabbard where we can can reach our workin' tools as required for the situation as needed ;) We got nothin' to hide
  17. Replaced the entire wiper assembly :headpop: I've already relaced all the bushings twice and a new wiper motor last january ( ya the linkage arms were a little iffy but decided to attend to that later ) . Not the brightest decision because the broken spot weld eventually stressed the new motor to the point where it burnt out the bearings on the "new " motor  Well its my own dang fault , $ 200 fixed the situation , bought a complete new wiper assembly w/ motor ( all new ) ....My old cowboss ( Al , he's the guy on the right in my avatar ) always said " a short-cut is the longest way to any where " , sure enough true !
  18. Amen :agree: Electrical ghosts are the worst :wall: I wouldn't want to count the hours I've spent tracking and tracing . In the city , things go fairly well , but when I head up country on those Cariboo roads/ goat paths everything goes to hell with the pounding I guess . Maybe the answer is to take "Hornbroad " or "Eagle" along for the ride ? ....Gord
  19. :???: Is that really black ? In the photos it looks charcoal grey to me :dunno: Hows the re-hab going ? ( clutch , brake lines , vacuum disco et al ) Lookin' good
  20. Well I guess the best place to start is ; are all the dash lites out , heater control panel eg. ? , fuses blown or corroded terminals ? , then burnt out bulbs or loose instrument panel connectors ? Also H/L switch connections / dimmer reostat function should turn on interior lites is a quick check . ( also check connector block at steering column ) Pretty basic but ya gotta start somewhere . Let us know what you find . Happy hunting , we've all been there :shake:
  21. :huh???: Um, I just swapped a '95 XJ One-piece Master/Slave into my '88 4.0L and both masters had vertical bolts. The '95 bolted right up to my '88 firewall. :???: I would be more concerned with the slave's "throw" being correct vs. the 4cyl slave. :shake: The question was 86 vs. 95 , so answering 88 vs 95 might not be relevant ? FWIW
  22. Its not outa the question....what are the quirks ? :wavey:
  23. FWIW... I've been thru this before , it needs to be said losing the valve isn't the end of the world but it can make braking a little skittery ( with no load in the bed ) til you get used to it . The usual way to by- pass is to install a T-fitting on the 2 lines coming from the master to the ride hieght sensing valve . ( this means you will have full pressure at all times / loads ) I guess a question might be did you have any problems with your "Pioneer " after the lift , because that mod would have negated the function of the perportioning valve unless you lengthened the( diff to valve ) rod ? .....Other stuff .... If you PB the hell outa the vavle conections , you shouldn't have a problem removing the fittings . Theres always a But you need to know the brake lines are a combination of metric and sae fittings , so you'll be buying a bunch of adaptors , AND if the axel lines are rusted out you can bet the lines along the frame to the master are toast as well .( good news is , it's easier to replace those with the gas tank out and you said before it needed to be replaced any way )
