  1. 2.5 plastic valve covers commonly have this malady ( overtightening the bolts and heat warp usually the cause ) The plastic VC's are availible from dozens of sources and cheap or switch to 91+ aluminum type but you will have to re-plumb the PCV/CCV and vent hoses . If you stick with plastic use the Felpro dry gasket and change factory shoulder bolts to 1/4 -20 5/8" flange bolts " , Lock-tite and torque to factory spec.s
  2. :agree: This is an amateur site , if the self-proclaimed " Pros" are frustrated by us trying to understand some concepts , then just opt out of the topic . The name calling is just plain childish
  3. Don't you already have a 91 Eliminator ? you really should get the diesel to round out your collection . I find I get a much better sleep on the couch anyway ( no elbow in the ribs everytime I snore a bit ) :D
  4. :wavey: Welcome to the club . Red MJ's are my favorite , looks like you found a good one
  5. 94 tags on the plates , you wouldn't have to have DMV inspection to re-regerster it in B.C........"Road Trip" on your horizon ? Great X-mas gift for the wife
  6. Excellent upgrade , if I lived closer I would be trying to buy your old buckets .

  16. Welcome aboard :wavey: Good group here to help thru the mysteries of Comanches , as you will find out for yourself . Locally :Canadaflag: you'll find Gary's auto wrecking ( maple Ridge ) and Gemini Jeeps ( Burnaby,Langley ) great places to source parts

  18. It's a long shot considering you live in sunny California but if the wiper assembly is cracked (or rusted ) usually where the motor bracket joins the top horizontal bar it could stress the the assembly causing it to bind . I replaced my wiper motor not long ago and noticed this defect (put on my get around to it later list  ) 2 weeks later the motor quit -burned out the bearings :wall: So I ended up buying a complete assembly (with new motor ) brand new . Problem solved , lesson learned . I had also previously replaced the wiper switch / staulk assembly on the steering column (now there's a nasty job ) Have another look at your wiper drive system before going that route .Good luck :wavey:

nice looking.. but wow almost 6 bills... I am going to have to get my brother to make a few of his pop up toneau covers that he makes over the winter.. It is a toneau cover with a zipper front nad rear. unzip and fold up the bars, then pull the top up so it becomes a toper... realy nice unit.... Sounds very interesting  , tell us more with pics if possible , BTW landed cost was close as dammit to 9 bills .

  21. :fool: It's a time management thing . A quick way to see whats going on , if you can be of help to someone or find something of interest . Other forms don't have it and it makes it tedious to inter-act , comprede ? :shake:

No holes required , rails clamp on ( same as a hard topper ) . Rear window has zippers on each side , velcro along bottom and corner flaps , also a bar/tube below window that clicks into a bracket at the end of each bed rail . The window can be rolled up and secured or removed completely (front or rear ) Check out the website www.softopper.com . Your comment about not wanting a permanent fixture is the reason I bought this unit , it folds down inside the bed or is easily removed in a couple minutes .

Opinions always welcome Don . re: cab vents , they're LED turn signals , great for announcing lane chages  Re Topper , Red wasn't an availible option (blk. ,gry. ,tan ) , the gaps are adjustable as is the front angle and roof hieght ( longer-lower , higher-shorter ) Granted there's more tweeking to do as the fit certainly isn't perfect but I'm pleasantly surprized by the quality of materials and workmanship of this product . :clapping:

:D Well guys , here it is , so far I'm lovin' it but getting used to it is a bit of a chore , loosing your side rear vision backing up with only mirrors is a little freeky for now at least :shake: . I'm thinking about painting the cab roof semi-gloss black to pull the look together ( opinions welcome  ) :Canadaflag: for cunucks : Softopper + Cover + Shipping +HST (B.C. & Ont. ) + Exchange =$889.17
