  2. There is an outfit in Kamloops that supplies solar powered systems for pumping water in remote areas . I'll get in touch with my old cowboss at the O.K Ranch in Jesmond to get you a name and phone # . They bought a kit and did thier own installation (12 volt pumps + inverter for 110 V ) ,works great . :D
  3. :Canadaflag: Howdy from the Great Wet Coast :wavey:
  4. "UnderCover" makes a really slick swing out box thats also removable (pretty darn pricey ) here's the link http://www.pickupspecialties.com/Underc ... oolbox.htm
  5. YUP !
  6. :waving: Your definitely in the right place to get all the info to get ol' blue up and running . Lots of experience availible for you to draw from .....Just ask lots of questions
  7. Connector block into H/L switch (look for burn/melting between ports ) then trace back loom ,especially over e-brake to firewall . Same for fuse-block thru firewall connections often short due to water or brake fluid dripping down from above . Good luck :shake:
  8. I installed A universal 15" Flex-a-Lite as a pusher , With thier thermo-coupler reostat switch . I have set for 195 w/a direct over-ride on-off switch for back up . It works very well for those long hill pulls ......You don't want to run " too cool" if gas milage is a concern , the Renix system needs to sense 190 or higher to operate correctly (mpg ). This dual system keeps the temp. very consistant and my fuel milage has gone from 21.5 to 24 combined city/hwy
  9. Check out this site http://www.softopper.com/ Its a pretty slick system , kinda adapted boat top bows on slider rails .
  10. Thanks for the inspiration , I've been procrastinating on this project way too long ( can't seem to decide on the color ) . Your Paint choice/brand takes the guess work out of the project
  11. There's probably a pill (like birth control ) to ensure you MJ family does'nt expand beyond your ability to support and feed it,but it does'nt seem to be readily availible to forum members ? " Papa Pete " has a nice ring to it ....Enjoy
  12. :D Glad to hear you finally got your seat , small victory but a victory all the same . I expect you'll never get a refund on the frieght dispute . Chalk it up to a life lesson and carry on . Don't forget to post pictures of your new seat installed
  13. " First engine mods are relatively cheap , and increase performance noticibly .....the mods following will become more and more expensive and performance from them less and less "....Racing reality . Do the basics , great brakes make you faster than more HP , same with suspension , rallying is all about momentum ...drive smooth ,late brake , rotate back ....do it again , it's a great dance..... oops off topic -mild head shave W/tri-cut valve job ,port and polish intake and exhaust , headers , free flow cold air intake ,electric fan ,etc. The rest is common sense ,you can't win if you don't finish , re-inforce , locktite and double nut everything .
  14. I used to rallye an old Volvo 123 (Amazon ) back in the late 70's . Low power and 4 speed as well , We did amazingly well with some basic mods : softer springs w/bigger sway bars ,dual rear shocks w/ axel catch straps , rollbar cage , frt & rear frame stiffeners , air adjustable bump stops , dual hand-brakes (non locking ), cockpit adjustable brake bias control (frt/rear )and Hakapolita (Nokian now ) tires 'cause nobody in the world drives rallyes as well as the Finns and thats thier tire......Oh,and courageous navigator does'nt hurt either ....Rallye on !

  16. There is no such thing as perfectly good sheet metal if it gets in the way or can't be used as a slider. Willy yes but when its a common place for rust to congerate and eat these wounderfull trucks alive and what i cut off has absolutly zero rust on it i consider it good metal . but other than that ur right , in the words of the great sawzall gods " If u can't use it loose it" I have a home for those rocker panels if you still have them ? :wavey:
  17. Up here on the " wet coast " there is a great Jeeps only JY called Gary's , he's not cheap but the prices are fair considering the yard is well orginized with a pull-it yourself section as well as a popular parts area thats laid out like a parts store .
  18. Thanks for the info , gives me another reason to do some JY shopping  of course I never get out of there with just one thing :wrench:
  19. Tired of leaks :headpop: Anybody have info on O.E.M. or aftermarket availibity on metal (steel, aluminum ) valve cover for 1990 2.5 4 cyl. ??? :dunno:
  20. I just sent you a PM ,before I saw this
  21. It's really not about being P,d off ....It,s about trying to make things right , you ever watch "Man Hunter " on the Discovery channel ....the Cowboy always wins , just food for thought :brows:
  22. Morning Recon....Gord , Go to slideshow for best view
  23. re shipper : Canada Post Would normally use thier Purolator division for large item shipping , they should be able to track via shipper / consignee info , I,m guessing he probably shipped from work so you might try Marine Chrysler as the shipper . Purolator confirms (w/# ) via e-mail to the shipper , so he might have sent on the co. acct. w/o informing his employer :hmm: I'll drive by his res. tomorrow :wavey:
