:hmm: You say you are going to put used shocks on, but that your question was what can you buy OTC that is better than stock. I don't know of anyplace that sells used shocks over the counter, so are you going new or used? :dunno: If used, you just need to check the classifieds here, on jeepforum.com, ebay and craigslist of course. Man yall I am sorry for the confusion I was typing fast and didnt proof read. I AM NOT GOING TO PUT USED SHOCKS ON MY TRUCK!!! I hope that clears it up. Sorry for the confusion :dunce: Bit

I am going to put used shocks on my truck. My question was is there a shock of another jeep that I can purchase over the counter that will bolt up to my MJ and be better than stock. I looked at the Monroes and I like them. I really don't the remote resisvor shocks as I this is just a daily 2wd. Thanks for all the info guys Bit

I was wondering if I can get shocks of anything else that will bolt up and be a better ride than the factory MJ shocks. My MJ is an 88 2.5 2wd. I need new shocks but don't want to put the same kind back on there. Thanks for the help Bit

Looks good. I really like the stance. I guess I am going to have to read back a few pages and see how you lowered it. Have you made any shack down runs and if so how fast? -
Mines an 88 :wall:

Maybe I missed it but THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICS!!!!! -
I want to put a electric fan on my MJ. What is a good donor car to steal one from. I can wire it all in and make it work. Just need to know what is the best to get it from, and will it actually help or will it just be a waste of time. My truck runs cool now. I'm just looking for a little more gas mileage and I figure an electric fan can't hurt. :hmm:

When you talk about wiring behind the dash are talking about just AC wires or all of them. Are the all the wires kinda plug and play or will I have to cut and spice alot. Obviously I will have to take computer and all so that will bolt right in the 2.5, but any other wires will I have to cut and splice. I guess I would remove my whole 2.5 wiring harness? At this point I am in gathering of parts stage. I still drive my truck and it runs fine. The few XJ's I have are 4wd, so I still need to find a 2wd. Bit

Is this swap really all that bad. I have a few 4l jeeps sitting around. Can I use all the AC stuff from the XJ once I get the 4l swapped over. Bit

The install part I don't think will be a problem, as I am confident I can do the work. The problem is finding the right parts. I will need a wiring diagram, put I can get off of here. See around here there are no MJ's and 2.5 Cherokee's are a no go either. So it looks like I will just be hot. I will keep looking though. I hope when I find a 2.5 Cherokee that its 5spd and 4.10's as I need that stuff too, buts thats another topic. Bit

My truck is an 88 MJ 2wd. Its the base model so it has nothing but a heater and a vent. I would like add AC to it. I have a few donor Cherokee's that I can get parts from if they will work. My truck has a 2.5 so I don't think parts from the 4.0 will work. Its obvious that I could get parts from a 2.5 with AC but around here thats almost impossible. I was wondering if there is any donors that I could get parts from, and what all I need, and is it worth the hassle. Thanks guys. Bit

I have experienced the "DW" only a few times the rest of the time it just shimmy's. It is wearing the drivers side tire evenly bald all the way to about halfway inside the tire. I had a similar problem on the passenger side awhile back when I had to run my spare for a couple of days. It DW 2 times and put my good tire back on it and it stopped. Seeing how everything checks out tight I am gonna have aligned and new tires put on it and hopefully it stops. Thanks Bit

At first I thought it was both, but now that I am paying attention it seems only to be the drivers side. It hasnt taken any hard hits in the front and everything seems to look ok, I wiggled the steering wheel and watched everything move and nothing seems majorly wore out and everything is tight. I really don't know

My jeep just rolled over 110,000 miles and the only thing I have done to it is put a clutch in it. Its 2.5 4speed 2wd. Over the last couple of weeks it has managed to wear the drivers side tire out on the outside bad. It almost did it over night. It is getting worse about death wobbling as the tire gets worse. I know I could probably change the tire and it would fix death wobble for a little while but I want to fix right. It doesnt appear that any ball joints are worn out and none of the tie rods are bad. The wheel bearing is a little lose but nothing that I would concern myself with at this moment. I look at the drag link and it has a bend to it. I am not sure if its a factory bend or if its really bent. The bend is close the drivers side tie rod. It looks as if its causing alot of postive toe end. I really don't know what the problem is at this point. :wall: Any help is great thanks. Bit

See I understand how turbo's work and have worked on turbo cars before but never built anything for a turbo. This would be my first turbo build. I am thinking about just building a good 4.0 stroker and maybe turbo later, once I learn and research more on what needs to be done. Either way its gonna stay 2wd and I don't know if I'm gonna leave it manual or go auto, havent really got that far yet. Bit
