  1. Park it ! Phone NAPA ,they stock a track bar complete replacement @ about $100 ? ( the bushing kit may not resolve the issue completely )

    It's official

So let me get this straight :hmm: your saying that management designed and produced product consumers really wanted to buy as well as franchising dealers with only the highest ethical standards to service those valuable consumers .BUT , those greedy union workers caused the whole thing to collapse ? give your head a shake ,have you forgotten the Sub Prime Morgage scams started this entire slide into this abyss were currently trying to survive . ....Gord- Teamsters Loc. 31
  4. Some fog lite manufactures use tinted reflectors in there fog lites. IE PIAA and LITEFORCE for an example. How about watching for a big brand on EBay or somewhere else used? I picked up a set some years back like this, less than half price and great set of lites!! I have had good luck with HELLA lites also. CW Good idea, I've got HELLA's for my off road lights, might check into their fogs. I'm pretty sure I've seen clear fog light advertised before though. :dunno: :smart: Fog (wide flat ) Driving ( wide oval ) Spot/aircraft (circular ) refers to beam pattern ,color of reflector or lens (eg. yellow adds more contrast ) is personal preference or sometimes legislated (France requires all lighting to be yellow including h/lites ) I personally Like white fogs for all round versatility in combination with good quality H4 conversions (w/harness upgrade ) :wavey:
  5. Well a little maintenance goes a long way .....Removed and cleaned the "engine speed sensor" , added nomex sleeve to protect the wire harness . Also installed new CCV grommet and cleared the VC breather tube . Running much smoother and the idle speed has dropped 250 RPM ( its a good thing ) , seems to run much easier as well as pulling RPM faster . :clapping: This forum is an incredible resource , the wealth of group experience is invaluable .Thanks
  6. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :clapping:
  7. Thanks for the info , I've downloaded the file , and I'll give it a go this week-end . :waving:
  8. Yesterday I experienced a couple misfire/stumbles at cruising speed , then after exiting the hi-way the (2.5 ) stalled out completely . It took 4-5 tries to get it re-started and when it did it pegged the tach . Some background....Had same situation 3-4 years back ,replaced the CPS .....Recently the valve cover was just pissing oil ,but took my sweet time before repairing it (2 days ago ) Question is , could the oil running down the back get into the CPS and cause the stalling ? Can I just clean it or is it wiser to buy a new unit ? :???:
  9. It looks like very well done project , BUT if your going to that much time, effort and money ,why not splice-in a 2 door XJ and get a little extra cab storage space as well as losing that annoying blind spot at the cab rear pillar with the longer side glass ? you would only increase the wheelbase to about the same as a long-box .
  10. I think they change to blue when it hasn't been used in a while. :chillin:  :agree:
  11. Do those "dangly bits " on the rear bumper change color with the seasons ?...blue=winter ,green=spring ,yellow=summer ,brown=fall :dunno: Looks like a good project
  12. Snap On has a socket made for this very purpose...a little penetrating oil first and this socket , comes off easy as can be .
  13. The're probably refering to depth (fore n' aft ) versus width ( you know the thing Steven Wright is afraid of instead of hieght ) :smart:

  21. Installed new Faux Wood dash surround , dash/floor courtesy lites ,98 XJ grill ( no front clip , just popped it in but i'll have to fab a 1/2" filler strip on each side ) The mix of styles looks good . :D

  23. Hey Don not every body runs a topper , some have roll-back or hard tonneaus FWIW :fool:
  24. My $0.02 , I,ve found no difference ,gate up or down ,or with tonneau cover (10% mpg claim is BS ) although if your using a cheapy cover with Velcro you can see the wind pressure tear the tailgate Velcro apart at highway speeds . I've overcome this by spacing the cover bows towards the rear with one about a foot from the tailgate to eliminate the "pocket" forming and over-stressing the velcro closures . :brows:
