  1. Its a 93'. Fixed now.
  2. They're cheap at a JY...what TC are you gonna run? I'm sure someone here has an extra one laying around.
  3. Got another auction Jeep. Its a 93' Sport, AX15, 231. 200K on it, runs good and just needs a front clip. Here's a few shots and some JY acquisitions for it. I bid on it sight unseen just for the 5 speed and the interior. But it was just a little too nice to part out, so I figure I'll either fix it and drive it (I've been missing an XJ for some time now) or sell it. I recently got married and have some kids that need braces. So I'm selling off some of my junk, which ones I haven't figured out yet. This 95' at LKQ has the Up Country package and leather so it'll get those pieces, seats, skid plate package and tow hooks. Maybe the "Country" door panels if I go back to get em. The fenders and grille are perfect, they'll be mine tomorrow. At another yard I picked a 3-4" Pro Comp lift off a 90' XJ. The front shocks were toast so I left em...plus I've got plenty in the garage anyway. Also picked two rare items! An unbroken fan shroud and an underhood light that still retracts as it should! The 2150 is for my Willys build... More pics to come! Jeep on! . :MJ 1: .
  4. You'll need the transmission controller also. Its located under the lower dash on the passenger side. I know there were some changes but not exactly sure if the 92' controller will work with your harness. Someone else who knows will have to chime in.
  5. Nice, I like how you took care of the underside!
  6. One of these might be neat to tinker with....http://savannah.craigslist.org/cto/4776469514.html
  7. Because of the DW, I towed it down to the Savannah Lighted Christmas parade to roll with our club....something fun for the kids every year. Here's a video...I'm not sure how to embed it. https://flic.kr/p/pq3jsx
  8. The truck now has full widths from a 78' F250. HP44 front and a 30 spline 60 rear. Its almost a downgrade in capability since I sold the ARBs but its full floating now, and I've got a spare 60 that gives me a spare carrier and two more axle shafts. Plus the brakes are much better than the WJ brakes I was running. These are the big two piston Ford calipers, they'll lock up the 35s pretty easy. I'll ditch the rear proportioning valve and probably add rear discs and some sort of front and rear selectable lockers whenever the bank account lets me, but I've also been thinking about selling the rig. TNT trusses front and rear, Sky offroad high steer arms and one ton chevy TREs. Tie Rod and drag link are 1.5" .250 wall DOM. No more sway bar. It has DW bigger than Dallas. I used a Rusty's adjustable track bar I got off of a JY WJ (I shortened it), anyways I tried several different poly bushings but no joy. I don't think having bushings at both ends is any good. I've got some DOM and heims on the way from RuffStuff. I think that'll take care of it. I wish I could make the track bar longer but its not happening with the high steer and coils being in the way. The TB/DL angles are pretty close, I may modify my Rock Krawler track bar brace to get it exact. Some random work pics in no particular order....excuse my mess btw. The front 44 needed a new inner pinion bearing, here's a few set up pics. My trusty iphone crapped out and I lost most of the pics I took while getting the axles together. This one shows the depth a little deep. I got it pulled out some but setting up these used gears was a little tricky. I couldn't get it perfect, but with locking hubs it won't matter much. Plus, it only has 4.10 gears which will get swapped out as soon as I can anyways. Threw a spartan locker in the rear for now. Both my 60s had sheared cross pins...I guess someone was doing too many one wheel peels....The rear 60 I used had perfect gears, backlash was .006 - right on. There's another MJ and an XJ back here now,,,my own little JY...
  9. Thanks to Cody (Cocy) up in Ohio for sending me the slider! As per the instructions of our fearless leader Pete M, I tore out the rubber mat (promptly threw it away) and found something bad underneath. :fs1: Now I need to round up some sheet metal and patch it. After some initial wire wheeling...there's a "few" holes. :fs1: Just primed till I round up some metal to lay down... Also started on that dent in the left rear corner...wish I had a bed skin laying around, or at least find an MJ in the JY with a good one I could graft on. I'm no body man, and don't play one online either. But I made a little progress on it with a 2x4 and a hammer.... :dunno: Before... Before - other angle... After... I know I stink at this. Give me a couple days and a $#!&load of bondo and I think I can get it looking better. Just a comparison shot. Its 13.5" lower than my other MJ.
  10. Figured I'd throw up some pics of my Little Blue MJ. It's a stripper model, nothing real special about it and I plan to use it as a DD in cooler weather only since it doesn't have an AC. Got it at a Copart auction. Its a very basic model. See here....http://comancheclub.com/topic/44919-whos-got-the-lowest-optioned-base-model/ It was well maintained by some previous owner. New brakes, tires with practically zero miles, new radiator and hoses, etc. But it had a coolant leak from somewhere so I pulled the head to find it, it was that small center freeze plug that was leaking. Someone tried to chisel it back in and shoved a bunch of RTV on it. It runs good but had a lot of sludge build up under the valve cover. I also added power steering to it. Future plans include an AX5 and 4.10 8.25, a radio that works, and that's probably about it. But its a Jeep so who knows what will happen. Engine Pics.... I Someone kept the outside clean but whew the inside of the engine needed some attention. There is a small ridge on the cylinder walls but the cross hatch marks were still there. Not too bad really. I should have just taken the whole thing out cause I need to change the rear main too. I'll get to it soon. All cleaned up... All back together with PS added.
  11. Be careful buying a new or reman box from some of the auto part chain stores. My local auto zone and advance list the same part number for a ZJ and XJ box.
  12. does it matter what year its from? It doesn't matter what year or model as long as it is a ZJ. Yes it does. Some of the early 92 models did not have the 12.7 quick ratio steering. To be sure, get one from any 93-98 model. Engine does not matter. Sounds interesting, so ALL 93-98 ZJ's will have the quicker steering? is this a true bolt in without any mods ? or is it like installing the durango box? in which you have to modify it a bit. Some 96' Limited ZJs had a speed sensitive steering system to firm up the steering feel at highway speeds. I believe the gearbox is the same though. just sayin.....
  13. I worked at a pipe plant in Denver, lots of fab jobs. If the Keystone pipeline ever gets approved every steel pipe manufacturer in the country combined doing 24 hr operations won't be able to keep up with demand.
  14. Lots of good ideas here I'm gonna copy on my little blue 2.5 truck.
  15. Nice work keeping another MJ going!
  16. Yeah, like everyone said, that's a nice truck. I'd keep it original too.
  17. Wonderful truck! Makes me wanna rip my Dakota seat out and find some MJ buckets...
  18. I know it well, had a GF there one exit from the Summit. Word to the wise, plan extra time into your travels. I75 gets backed up often.

  20. Thanks, I've got a 93', 5speed 4x4 XJ that's next. Got it in an auction, wrecked in the front, just needs a header panel.
  21. Yes for snow and ice, all other things being equal, narrower tires usually bite better than wider tires. Look at what the contract plow trucks are using to clear business parking lots....I'm talking about the guys with plows on 1 ton trucks. They use a much narrower tire than you'd think.
