  2. I've seen something like this flying over my boat while fishing on the coast.
  3. Glad it's in good hands!
  4. The tank on my M38 was varnished up horribly and clogging the line. It was a homemade jobber some long distant PO built outta 1/8th material. I ended up cutting the top of and blasting the interior to bare metal and welding it back together. I was just gonna let that ride but now I'm thinking I might wanna coat the inside to prevent future corrosion. What product would you guys recommend?
  5. I don't have a Jeep that could use an AX5 but I'd hold on to it, maybe try to sell it locally. If it doesn't sell, its always worth whatever your local yard charges for a core. $35-$55 bucks or so.
  6. Two self service yards in Savannah, and a large jeep only yard up in Statesboro, but I haven't been there yet. Sorry, it was a bad Chico Escuela reference....I couldn't find a clip of it. http://www.thisdayinquotes.com/2009/12/baseball-been-berry-berry-good-to-me.html
  7. Those were for a friends XJ.
  8. My local club is having a show and obstacle course just up the road from you. Everyone is invited... https://lcmrjeepshow.squarespace.com/ https://www.facebook.com/events/1475501716067313/
  9. Found what looks like a Rusty's kit on a WJ. 4x 10" travel Bilstein 5150s, adj track bar, adj lowers, fixed uppers, JKS discos, coils. I picked the spare and ins cluster for another local club member. Then it got too darn hot to get the rear coils and arms. I might go get em later. Grand total - $95! (The counter girl likes me  )
  10. My local club is having our annual show Nov 7. This year we've got a piece of property donated and we are currently building an obstacle course. I'll post up any updates. Location is Richmond Hill, GA. https://www.facebook.com/events/1475501716067313/ https://lcmrjeepshow.squarespace.com/shop
  11. Cool, everyone should have at least one old Jeep.
  12. Nice looking truck!
  13. There's two local PnP yards locally. One is LKQ, I've been there on a few mornings and there was a crew of workers from some tire/wheel shop, they nab every alloy wheel as soon as a new row gets laid in the yard. Seemed shady to me. The other yard, I believe, removes all the alloy wheels before they lay the car in the yard...the good ones at least.
  14. I have two turbines in the back yard, just can't seem to get my hands on a couple more.
  15. Grey or Tan, its too dang hot in GA for darker colors.
  16. My MJ is in the back yard sitting on jack stands right now...I've got TnT trusses and crane knuckles waiting to go on a full width 44/60 swap, I ain't gonna have it done in time for this year... Got 4 builds going on right now and a bad back slowing me down... :wall:
  17. Yeah beat me to it. U-ship. Haven't been on the ordering end of u-ship but on the sending end. It took about two months to find someone who's route corresponded with a GA-WI route. So all I can say is be patient. Most of the shippers are looking for something to fill up the return route so they're not hauling empty on the way home, or something else to add on a route they're already booked for.
  18. She passed in 06'. Cancer... Search her name in wiki. She's survived by two daughters and her husband. Would be nice if the jeep was still around and could be restored. I'd sure volunteer to do it.
  19. I epoxied mine. It's lasted 6 years but I kinda wish I hadn't cause I can't replace my cracked shift boot now. It won't stretch over the knob without tearing. I guess i could heat up the shift rod and melt the epoxy but haven't gotten around to it yet.
  20. I was a kid in Alaska and watched her go by on the trail for that race. My parents have some good pictures in the old photo album. IIRC, Scotty from Star Trek was the Grand Marshall for the parade in Anchorage.
  21. On back to GA in a day or so.
