  1. LOL, Where's the knee slappin' smilie?
  2. I think that bumper might work with a winch plate,,,and a winch, and some fog lights in the marker light holes. Paint it black though.
  3. Haha!
  4. Bummer, keep us updated Jim, were praying for ya.
  5. Spicer or Moog is fine, heck if you're not going to beat the truck up taking it offroad, I'd just get them from whoever gives you the best no hassle warranty. As far as tie rods go, same thing. Rubber boots are fine.
  6. Can you make it where there's no reverse lock out? As in, you could slam it up in reverse, sometimes that's handy when wheeling. Just wondering...
  7. Man, this is one clean truck! Whatever you do, keep it that way!
  8. Turbo? Just throwing that out since its looking so vulnerable... :D...and I know you could do it...
  9. Or 5 leaf rear springs? The tow package is one and the same as the metric ton or big ton package IIRC...unless you had a dealer installed hitch.
  10. do you have a rear d44 or receiver hitch or door mounted rear view mirrors? Sorry, my laptop doesn't have a capital d.....stupid thing...
  11. Exactly as Red said,,,,, I think 1/2 of it is tires, the other 1/2 is cab sound proofing.
  12. You sir, have nothing on my underhood wiring rats nest....squiggle up another 20 lbs of wire under the hood in the shape of some einsteinium trigonometric equation then come see me...:).....Just sayin you're wires ain't bad...
  13. Yeah, I've determined from the fender well tag that it was produced in ~Sep 51'.
  14. And newer tires designed for road noise, most road noise/highway noise comes from the point where the tire meets the pavement and compresses the air. Then that sound resonates in the cab.
  15. The 97 door stripping will go right on and its a bit "plumper" than the older stuff, the 97'+ window weather stripping is not quite as easy, its better but you'll have to cut it at the wing window pillars. It won't really help with the wind/road noise. I think dynamat on the roof and back of the cab and extra carpet matting is the best you can hope for.
  16. If the MJ didn't come with AC or the tow package, it wouldn't have the electric fan. There's a couple of options for controlling the on/off of an electric fan. Like danby said,,,The easiest would be to find a 97+ efan and use a deraile or other aftermarket temp controller to turn it on and off. Or you could just wire it up through a relay and a toggle switch to turn it on manually.
  17. One of my other tasks on that trip was to fix an elderly friend's MJ, she's got a brand new Caddy CTS but prefers driving her MJ around. The fuse box had corroded beyond use and she needed taillights also. I had the parts on hand so it was an easy fix, she paid me well, that's the only way I could've afforded the trailer. Later she called, said the clock wasn't working, guess I forgot to plug it in...
  18. Big mistake...
  19.
