  1. I lost this piece of side molding on the highway, looking to replace it. Driver's side in front of the rear wheel, shortbed. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B07obukG-y7qelo5QXNHLTd1RFhqUGpUSGJJR3UzWFpwMGdV
  2. Looking for a clean faced AM/FM factory radio for my 89. The one I have works, but some of the buttons are white from the paint/labels wearing off, and the display does not light up. It's the one thing I need to make my interior perfect. I'm in Iowa.
  3. If anybody stumbles upon this thread, I just put the entire "engine side" vacuum harness on the classifieds. I ordered one from Rock Auto and they sent 2, so now I have a brand new one. I had the exact same probably as the OP, this part was the fix.
  4. For anybody else stumbling upon this thread looking for this part, the front CCV tube actually comes as an assembly with some other lines attached. As of today, it's $17.05 on RockAuto. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=586584&cc=1181674&jnid=580&jpid=1 Thanks to this thread I figured out what I was looking for. The rubber on my front one is completely deteriorated.
  5. I contacted them direct after finding another thread about them here on CC, he just said "buy 3m stripes".
  6. I had about a 2" wide bubble of rust start to creep out from the top of my plastic fender flare on my passenger front fender. Removed the flare, saw there was rust (only surface) around most of the holes that the flare retainers bolt through, and the flare retainers are pretty bad. I'm just going to replace the fender ($60-something shipping), paint it, and put on new flare retainers (8 bucks each from Crown). I'm having a hard time sourcing OEM looking pin stripes. In my case, my MJ Pioneer is Colorado red, and has silver and "dark silver" pin stripes. Anybody know where to find them in OEM colors? Or am I better off measuring their width and just ordering something that looks close off a decal site or something like that? Interestingly enough, the inside of the fender is completely rust free, as is everything else on the truck. I figure with as cheap as fenders are, I'm not going to bother to fix the old one and have it be a weak spot from grinding down through rust.
  7. Cruiser, hadn't seen it til now. Bookmarked for *ahem*, reading in the "facilities". :D
  8. In case anybody cares, this has been resolved. It was a bad fuel pump that eventually failed completely. Just replaced it this weekend, the power loss is gone and it runs like I know a 4.0 should run now.
  9. Original it is! Might put some normal size AT KO's or something on it when these tires wear out in 10 years. Probably do a paint-matching roll-on bedliner as well.
  10. So much talk about Halogens. Since nobody asked, I'll tell you that the TruckLite LED headlights are well worth the money. Out of the thousands and thousands of dollars I've spent on upgrades and modifications on my TJ, the LED headlights @ $400 were probably THE best money I've ever spent on a mod. I will eventually be getting a set for my new MJ as well. I know they're expensive, but if you drive at night, consider then strongly. They make a 5x7" version for us.
  11. I'm definitely aware the power band isn't the same, but something is certainly not right. It literally feels like flipping a switch at 3000rpm. Not a gradual increase or anything. And I lied, I did have a 94 ZJ. that was a long time ago. And not a renix
  12. I'm surprised at the condition for being a northern truck as well. Re: pictures, I've been around Jeep forums for 14 years. there's even a little button that says "Image"!
  13. LOL!!! I wonder how long it would have been before I would have figured out it was upside down? This is the oldest Cherokee-style Jeep I've had so I'm not super familiar with all the intricacies of this era yet.. Hahhaha thanks for pointing it out! Yes, he was asking quite a bit for it I thought, but after inspecting it I think it's worth almost what he was asking. You just don't see MJ's this clean anymore, and that was worth more than anything to me. Fortunately (or unfortunately) for guys like us who like old Jeeps, there are no price books or KBB references. It's all about what it's worth to you as a possession. And to me, this thing is worth a lot because it's a step back in time and has been preserved awesomely. And it's a pickup. Who doesn't need a pickup?
  14. I picked up my first MJ yesterday. I traded my Grand Wagoneer for it. The MJ makes my 7th Jeep. I found it on craigslist while randomly browsing Jeeps for fun. As soon as I saw it I called the guy, and after talking to him, I knew I had to have it, so I traded my 88 Grand Wagoneer for it. He said an old guy from Minnesota had it since brand new until a couple years ago. I can't believe for being in Iowa and Minnesota it's whole life that there is basically no rust. I'm not sure what my plans are for it. I'd like to do a mild lift and maybe 32's, but I already have a lifted Wrangler for fun so that would just be for looks. I may just leave this completely stock since it's in such nice condition. What do you guys think? 1989 MJ Pioneer 107,000 miles 4.0 I6 AX-15 5-speed NP231 4x4. The only work the guy did to it was spray on undercoating (frame was perfect, just preservation), some minor valve work, and new shocks. He then cleaned up and clear-coated the valve cover. Other than that, this is 100% original.
  15. I picked up my first MJ today. It's my 7th Jeep, 5th with a 4.0, but first one old enough to have a distributor. Jeep idles great, tools around town fine and cruises down the highway like a dream. It has a longer crank time than I'm used to with 4 liters, but I've read that's normal. My problem is I have probably about a 15-20% power loss below 3000 rpm. If I'm driving at any speed, below 3000 rpm and I hit the gas hard, the engine seems to stutter VERY slightly. I can tell it's not accelerating like it should. If I keep accelerating, when the RPM's hit exactly 3000, it's like a turbo kicks in. There's an immediate increase in power like I pushed the ignition on a rocket booster or something. That's when the motor starts feeling like a 4.0 to me. Something's wrong below 3000 though. Thoughts?
