  1. i shift at 2500ish until 4th which i go into at like 35-40mph depending on acceleration, and 5th is for anything 50+ there ya go... ;) shift points
  2. wow! does it really need to drop down that far... i see my already dreadful AOD decreasing
  3. ack man! get better so you can lift your junk!
  4. ...tey painted one side of your truck, are you serious? thats the most half butted $#!t i've ever heard of in my life. wow glad the wifey is ok. and hopefully dopey and dopette decide to try it out on deserted streets next time... (aka backwoods)
  5. you could find another thing that runs on a 1.5v rechargable battery and use the cord/inverter for that? :dunno:
  6. ive got the rusty's tube and 6x9 k&n filter... i dunno if i gained power but probably... and idk if you've ever heard a 4.0 with a k&n kickin it at WOT... but its a meaaan growl.
  7. does that load sensor have something to do with brakes? haha, yeah man... its SUPPOSED to send more pressure to the rears when loaded... most of htem don't work.. i lost my rod for about a year, then found one in a JY and picked it for 2 bucks, haven't noticed any difference. mine's probably trash
  8. not sure how your jeep is still running anywhere near idle with the ccv plugged there... if i plug that line my truck drops dead... :dunno: but its supposed to connect to the intake manifold somewhere near the intake/tps. area
  9. howdy from down south! beer's in the fridge man.
  10. well, i'll be doing this swap as soon as i can save up for a clutch kit so i'll let you know how it fits with a YJ trans, and XJ t-case. that should narrow the thing down a bit. they have the same pilot bearing for the 4.2 and the 4.0 right?
  11. well i have an XJ t-case and a YJ tranny. so which is clocked? the case or the tranny?
  12. Well I left early today and didnt get the info about the vac hose off /on, but i did check pressure. it was a lil over 36 with key switched on. with it running it was like 39/40ish range. Is that to high? the regulator is like 40 bucks IIRC, mine was spewing fuel so it got replaced. idk how that helps you but there ya go!
  13. i've got my YJ ax15 in storage, and i gotta tell you it appears to be clocked the same just eyeballin it. are we sure that ALL of them are like that? it may be that eyeballing isn't an exact art but it sure looked the same to me
  14. good question.. that DARNED filter is the most annoying thing ever. dumps all over the place every oil change. is it possible to turn it so the filter is upside down?
  15. well, i have DW and its not tire balance, or track-bar... or lift issues. its not brake rotors, its not ball joints, its not wheel bearings... ;) there's way to many things that can cause DW, old/rotted bushings are likely the origin of my problems.
  16. they sell badge glue or something like it at parts stores, i don't remember the exact name of it, but it says on it thats what it's for. try oreilly's or napa or somethin, they can probly tell you where to get it if they don't carry it.
  17. the input gear swap is as simple as any other teardown on a t-case... if you can do a SYE you can do a new input gear. as far as i know they were all 23 spline and the 89 wrangler transmission will work. it'll have a different shifter though, so try and find a shifter for an AX from a XJ/MJ other notes.. i asked a while back about converting to external slave and i think the response was either not possible or not worth the amount of work. don't remember 100% though
  18. some places will offer alignments for life, so you may pay 150 but you won't pay for it again. and with our trucks they could probably use it more than twice a year.
  19. don't remember where, but i know you can buy u-joint style straps that will go in our yokes as an upgrade. they go through and you put a nut on the back of them
  20. i can't imagine you having a pinion angle related vibration unless its WAYYY off. like eyeballing it and it looks way off off. its a LB manche, which means the shaft is a good 50"ish right?
  21. snag her for as little as humanly possible. the 2.5 is a good strong motor in most cases but definitely not a powerhouse. and 4x4 is only a tranny/t-case/front axle away. considering its not THAT guys truck, i say lowball him, he has no attachment to it, and probly barely ever driven it. however if someone offered me that for my truck i would be highly offended. but 1100 for a 2.5 4spd 2wd she better be PRISTTINNNE usually 4.0 4x4 5spds will go for around that much
  22. Well yeah I guess you right. I don't know enuff about either so..... but the flange does look pretty strong though. well the strap style the dana's have on our jeeps tend to wallow out, but can be replaced with u-bolt style instead... but DAMN that flange takes the cake
  23. I was thinking about those vent windows today at school. Just happened to be two xj's parked near me. One was an older xj I'm guessing 91 (the same model as one I had before) the other was a newer model maybe a 98 or 2k. I saw the door on the newer jeep didnt have the 1/4 glass at all. will those doors fit the 89 mj's? It still had the same body lines so just wondering. thanks, jt they'll fit just fine but the striker bolt for the latch isnt a bolt like our doors its a loop style. so that has to be switched over as well, but i do think its a fairly easy swap just a little bit of creative thinking
