  1. 2001 XJ I put a new set of leaf springs on the vehicle to get it back up to stock height and get rid of the sag. I also put new shocks on at the same time (munroe sensatracs). Whenever I go over a bump the rear end clunks. I can't seem to find it exactly and I don't see any metal that has been scratched. Anyone have any ideas where it could be coming from? I'm thinking maybe the shocks themselves but I can't find anywhere on the net that anyone else has had a problem with them. I also put on new shackles for the rear and new bushings for the front and rear springs.
  2. High river, Alberta? I'm in calgary. Anyway, here's something that a guy that runs a paintball store welded up in his spare time. Image Not Found
  3. Hey guys I just bought a 2001 XJ as a daily driver. I'm going to keep it stock for now but I'd like to get rid of the sag in the rear. My idea was either to bring the leaves into a spring shop and get them to re-arc them or buy new ones and arc them an inch or so higher than stock. I'd like to try to keep the ride quality on it as smooth as possible if I can. Maybe air shocks with it? I'm not sure. I've had everyone tell me something different so far on other sites. They're likely to sag in the future anyway so would putting an extra leaf make it ride a whole lot worse or would it be very noticeable? Thanks
  4. hook them up directly to the battery. that'll tell you if the light itself works. Then narrow it down to switches and fuses
  5. They actually had an amphibious version called the Seep and one that was light enough to be dropped out of planes called the Fleep
  6. They were originally called General Purpose or GP for short and GP later got shortened to Jeep.
  7. so I just take off the bolts for the bumper and the bolts that hold the bumper on will also hold the hitch on?
  8. I'm curious how much I can tow with my bumper and how much could I do before I'd have to get a hitch? Could it do a 4' enclosed trailer ok? And if I got a hitch that'd be a good spot for the rear to get towed out of a mudhole wouldn't it? (new to offroad) For the front I was looking at these http://motionoffroad.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10_47&products_id=90
  9. Whats the name of those rims? I can't find them in 15"
  10. I live in Canada and we got free health care as most of you probably know. I don't have a wife or kids but for myself I've never had to wait more than 30 minutes for an appointment for anything. Any time I travel to the states I get health insurance. I wouldn't want to have to pay for anything at the rates you guys do. That's ridiculous. Alberta is the only province that has to pay $44/month for the health care but they might be doing away with that soon but they also don't have provincial tax. Their tax is 5%.
  11. hahaha the holy **** handle. haha ka-donkadonk. you guys are idiots. I love it. Mine never came with a handle on the drivers or passengers side and I never happened to notice one on a xj or mj so I just thought they never made them. I'll have a look next time I'm in the PnP. Thanks for the help guys
  12. you say you mirrored the passenger handle? Mirrored what? What did you use for the handle?
  13. I've had some complaints about my truck mostly from girls saying "god it's tough to get into this contraption!" Sure I tell them to stop whining or whatever but has anyone ever put a handle in the passenger side on the A-pillar like most half tons come with? I see some knockouts in the A-pillar panel for them. Is there a vehicle that has them that'll just mount on nice and easy?
  14. Yeah the factory rollbars came with brackets right around the frame. Tough as nails. I had to cut the truck in half literally to get it from the junkyard. 4 bolts down through the box and then 6 through the frame on each of the front posts
  15. -48 would be better I guess, but I'll wait for a chinook and it'll be like +10 in a week or so
