  1. Yeah I no, It still private party for 5500 to 6500 so in the long run I still didn’t get hurt. I mean for 2,000 bucks I don’t think I could have gone wrong. Yeah I no the mile thing is a lot. I am still new to the diesel world  but that is why I bought one. If the motor goes I will drop a 6.9 Cummins in it  its nice to be a well rounded car guy isn't it :brows: no car is dead until the parts cost more than a new car... or the frame is rusted out form underneath it i can't imagine getting rid of a truck b/c of a motor
  2. the bellhousings will probably be different, cause the 2.8 is a GM motor, the GW should've had an AMCv8 but since the trannies are related maybe hte BH can be swapped between the two? just a thought
  3. its a torqueflight, pretty sure it'll be the 999 not sure on that though rear axle? in the 4's somewhere 4.10 maybe
  4. the 4.0 calls for the cheapo champion spark plugs (i didnt know if they were copper or not so i hit other) but idk jack about those MPI motors
  5. damn nice truck man!
  6. wwwwwooooooooooooooow that thing is BUILT. currie d60s front and rear, La's, power assist steering, brakes, winch like wow, they didn't leave anything out.
  7. hahaha i've been to alaska once when i was 12 iirc, we have some relatives in anchorage. it was awesome, mid-july but the most snow i've ever seen :brows: us GA boys don't see much of that there white sterf. ( ) i'd LOVE to go back bald eagles and moose everywhere we looked.
  8. the pinion nut is going to be TIGHT. its torqued somewhere in the hundreds of ft/lbs and that was yyeaaars ago. I'm sure someone will chime in with the correct specs for tightening her back up. but you're going to have to have an impact
  9. i'd have to agree for 4$ more i'd go with the spicer joint cause spicer is usually synonymous with quality joints IMO
  10. we (i) refer to Eagle as god of the MJ/XJ platform (and many other things to boot I'm sure)  somebody mail that man a case of bud select!
  11. gotcha, thats the kinda answer i was lookin for, thanks man. and btw. no input=backfiring/lack of power ;) found that out the hard way :D she runs like a dream now... better than i can ever remember (but it might just be back to normal since i've been drivin it for 2 days while it ran like crap)
  12. our hi-lift used to get gummed up or stuck or w/e would happen but the actual jack would just slide all the way down cause a pin in it got stuck.. we now rebuild it and clean it and grease it regularly
  13. ok guys. i got a little happy and decided to play with my tps by hand the other night with no voltmeter (dumb idea yeah i know, but i figured hey, if i can get it almost right by ear then it'll be ok right?) WRONG. wow. so i put the TPS in with its little arm ABOVE the throttle body's arm. (it goes underneath so that the sensor's arm moves as you open the throttle.) tell me how my engine managed to run (with minimal back-firing issues between shifts and lack of power randomly) with NO SIGNAL from the TPS? i gauged it literally NO signal throughout the entire movement of the throttle. lets play a guessing game, why did the thing still run? HOW did it? EDIT: oh yeah, i got her adjusted nicely tonight as close as i could get to .83~ that part of my VM is rather small so its hard to get it perfect and she runs nice now. smooth signal increase as you open the throttle.
  14. middle finger wave: for 2wd JKs and compass's only... +2
  15. damn man! been busy have we? comin along nicely.
  16. k, I'm now playin it... freakin weird. i can't figure out how to buy a rig though, and I'm not sure how i can attempt to run a trail without a rig?!? oh well. i got a job in there at least?
  17. if you're talkin about like, holding a nut onto the frame so you can put a bolt through the other side (kinda like a nutsert) then i get what you're talkin' about.
  18. just make sure they're not aluminum shims... because steel/aluminum/steel doesn't make a good sturdy sandwich. they tend to break. thats the only PITA thing thats ever happened to me with shims involved
  19. weird. i can't think of a time mine hasn't worked... in fact, we have 4 of them that all work  one from a 84 grand waggy, two from XJs and one frm my truck :D but i lied the fastest way to get a tire off the ground is the lift at school... followed shortly by floorjacks at home :brows:
  20. i tried 5 times and i can't pass that stupid type in the letters test.
  21. eh, you can always shim it as long as you get it within like 5* or so
  22. thats what happens when people don't have cash to blow
  23. :dunno: i can't use mine on the XJ, but my stock bottle jack is the fastest way to get my jeep off the ground, and seems way safer than the hi-lift. considering the fact that the hilift has now dropped the XJ twice :dunno: use mine all the time.
  24. hsha "war is not the answer" haha, all they needed was a soccerball sticker on the other car
  25. WOW... that combined with my brand new laptop screen was a hella high resolution pic man. nice camera!
