Soft shackles better then d rings. I have a few smaller snatches for cable, something simple you can find at your local farm store. They have been used for a few recoveries as well. can't go wrong with having few different sizes laying around and I can see you plan to buy quality for the long use of it. I havent had any complaints with my steel ones. can't say id shell out 200+ for one particular one. Would it be worth it...surely. can you justify it, then its worth it. Nicer one's have less friction and bearings on some and those be real nice. Id just search amazon for something that looks legit and expect it to work. Tossing around logs i would think steel cheap ones would work good with a nice atv winch. Pull them logs right on up on the platform. I was looking at these Arb knockoff snatch block ones and it even comes with a tree strap.

Exactly. i have been the same way, from no roof to a shed to a tarp to a single double and even a triple garage at one point. This being great but a pain as its nice having a steady place to work out of on the regular and not have to haul tools and what not around for projects. Also a thing when its not "your" space even. Something behind a man and his dream garage. . But through the years learning i just learned how to fix something with whats available and be happy when not getti g rained on during a Repair.

Saw saw the bolts perhaps. Which ever to get her done. I'm not looking forward to my leaf spring swap but i do have to pull tank for a new one so guess i will plan for that at same time. Thanks for that tid bit. Yeah some parts are just better off replacing for the peace of mind. Glad you handled the knuckle and worked out good. Can you possibly drill a pilot hole in the grease fitting hole itself?

You. You can run longer shackles and will allow for more leaf spring droop. Ideally you don't want the shackle straight up and down but rather top mounted more forward then the rear leaf bushing connection to the longer shackle. This will help prevent inverted shackles and will aide in a better position, shackle angle for better approach over obstacles, hence a better road trip 😉

I would suggest not running a longer shackle setup. I am looking to replace my longer shackle setup cause of a few issues. AXLE WRAP, INVERTED SHACKLE, and cause it doesnt help load capacity. My plan To fix issues is reinstall stock shackles and build up a leaf pack using two stock leaf packs, creating heavy duty carrying capacity in hopes to maintain stock handling being the leafs will be rated the same, unlike a stiff add a leaf. Then i will not need to install a traction bar so much. Thats the idea anyways.
