  1. front tow points are made from sections of elevator rail: custom made to fit my bumpers: neither really helps if you've got stock bumpers though. :(
  2. Not saying this is the best way, but at this point in time I'd likely be drilling a new hole to the broken one all the way through the frame and put in a long grade 8 bolt with wide washers. I'd trust that way more than my attempt at re-tapping a rusty nut. :dunno:
  3. oh that's right. the computer carbs. guess I did know that. :rotf:
  4. hmmm... I wasn't aware they had one in 84. :dunno:
  5. It's on bags so it pops back up to a normal-ish ride height. still functions as a truck. Heck, it's probably more of a "truck" that mine. My bed is pretty much worthless if I needed to move a couch or fridge.
  6. ignore that last nine :D
  7. Chevys use their shackles in a reverse orientation from us (the leaf spring bushing is above the frame bushing) so the longer it is, the lower the truck. Regular chevy shackles are shorter than the drop shackles.
  8. wonder what it does...
  9. what is your end goal? tire size? wheeling preferences? is there enough budget for regearing? lockers?
  10. just trying to make sure they aren't overlooked. though admittedly I'm sure I could find something to do with 4.56ers.
  11. any of those 2.5L Jeeps an automatic? :brows:
  12. get it? :D
  13. I believe the old Jeep adage applies here; experiences may vary. :D
  14. what do you consider a "little modification"?
  15. love the tree rings! :D (hint: think tires)
  16. yup, been absorbing a lot from that site. they've got some insane buildups there.
  17. driveshaft length can become an issue as you lift, but angle will not. MJs have way more wheelbase than XJs and wranglers and so the angles are much less severe.
  18. remove the drop.
  19. vacuum actuates the little diverters in the dash. a common leak is the hose running to the vacuum reservoir behind the front bumper.

    The words out

some day I want to hire a car hauler and bring a load of those cheap rust-free MJs back east. :D Course I'd only sell them to people that promise to never let them see salt. under penalty of a horrible, horrible death.
