smart me showed up today and I had the thought to experiment on my own Jeep's doors to see what it takes to remove the window regulator stuff. totally worth it as I now know exactly what to do. should be a cinch to snag as many of those little plastic guides as I can (and it'll be a heck of a lot cheaper than buying the whole assembly!) plan is to hit the yards tomorrow morning!

is it overpriced for a tiny piece of colorful non-precious metal? yes. but they so rarely show up for sale that when you get the chance, you should probably snatch it up.

that sucks. I feel for you. the first time I took my newly re-assembled 88 it overheated 10 minutes into the dunes.

if I remember right, we had 140k on our 2010 when we sold it and the only issues we had over that time were a cracked plastic coolant splitter and a bad relay socket for the rad fans. other than that is was peachy. the only reason we no longer have it was we needed more towing power and got a durango. I do miss that stow-n-go seating!

how could it not? I hope you have a big enough shelf for all the awards.

either one will be good (assuming 97+ XJ), but the KJ Liberty gives you disks right off the bat and is a bit wider so the flare coverage of the tires looks more like the fronts. Ths XJ will have fewer things to lop off though and you can easily convert to disks using KJ or ZJ parts.

they are essentially 2/3rds of a 4.0 so they have all the longevity of their big brother. gearing is extra important to accommodate any increase in tire size.

I do, but I don't think they would show up well from the extreme pixel-ation of the tab images.

they are a rarity in the XJs. double din? I... sorta went in a different direction. but it does have bluetooth.

looks better than some that I've purchased.

how old is the gas?

I did peek in each XJ I saw to check the radios. I'd never done that before. stupid unicorn CD player!!

how's the rust?

rear latch mechanism was the first thing I grabbed last time didn't think about the evic. that's a good idea! side note, the junkyard switch fixed my mirrors! guess I should grab another of those. and if I ever see a crd in the junkyards I'm stripping it clean!

yup, the computer controls the timing but can only accommodate a small amount of distributor misalignment or timing chain misalignment.

that sucks. at least you didn't drive all that way first.

it comes stronger

having an "MJ" almost seems too obvious but certainly doable. any other thoughts on it?

just get 4 pieces of 1x1 tubing about 7" (?) long and straddle then side-to-side between and on top of the 2 brackets. punch holes in the appropriate places and get longer bolts to join the seat bits to the floor brackets. done.

a 1" riser made from 1x1 tubing should be easy enough to do.

trying to find time to get out to pullapart again and this time focusing on the Liberty. She's a salt belt Jeep and I'm down south so I'm sure there are plenty of items that I can grab. this is what's on the list so far: ABS computer (last time it was in the shop they said the comp wouldn't talk to them) wheel sensors (in case it's not the comp) the rear window thingies that like to break (regulator guide?) skid plates front trans lines (mine are rusty enough to start leaking) blower resistor as well as a sunvisor for a ptCruiser and whatever is left of value on that beat up MJ.
