bleepin' responded! and he was gracious enough to let me do all the work and link to his videos.

don't for get to consider how much driving it'll see and the local rules about lifts and tire coverage.
-
looks like a top loader rockwell and a lawn tractor had a baby.

there are a LOT of variables in play here. terrain, driving style, tread pattern, locked/open, truss, etc. A dana 30 is way tougher than its name implies, but it has limits. personally I wouldn't go bigger than some 33" mud terrains, but I'm a cautious person since I usually need to drive the truck home. I put a 44 in the front of my truck because I wanted more of a project than just a bolt-in 4wd conversion. and for every guy that runs giant tires on a dana 30 and doesn't have any problems, there's a guy like me.. who cracked a ford 9" case in half (we think by dropping it on a rock), so nothing is invincible.
-
it does stop scratching, but it isn't invincible and brings on other problems: fading, getting it clean, chunking, baking in the sunshine, trying to repair the steel if bigger damage or rust occurs, etc. the various brands of liner have differing levels of issues so you'll want to research each and make sure you find the people with negative opinions about what they did. nothing is ever as awesome as a quick quote on facebook makes it seem. plus the effort to remove it after the fact is insane if for some reason you change your mind about the color or the look (yes, one owner did that after buying a truck that already had it on). just make sure you research the hell out of it and give it thought. it's not for everyone.

got my flight.

no paint needs to be removed. but you'll need to prep the surface as per the instructions. why are you lining it?
-
what do you mean by "change the paint"?

Norwegian 86' 2.5L 4x4 XLS (Picture heavy)

any updates? -
sigh. yeah the pics aren't dragging over, even individually. you'd have to save each one to the desktop and then bring them in one at a time. the plus side is that then they'd be saved here. I'd wager that ” stands for ". when a new character pack comes in, sometimes the old ones don't get converted quite right.

copy/paste that into this thread so he'll see it:

a-yup. just give them all the monies.

that's a thing of beauty! you should be able to click "edit" in your original expeditionportal thread, copy all the text and then paste it here.

Project "Eliminator"
Pete M replied to 89eliminator's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
holy crap! -
that was probably for the best. I've watched a couple shows (on mute, while doing other things) and some of the trucks incur some serious damage.

go drive a Kia if you don't want gawkers and groupies. they are inevitable and drawn to the awesomeness that in the Comanche.

Alex says he poked around, updated some things, tweaked some settings and the software should all play together nicer now. any improvement?

when asking about a cherokee, it's important to mention it or at least put it in your sig. MJs and XJs share a lot of the stuff up front, but the rear is different. offhand I'm not sure where a cherokee pump grounds.
-
I'm not saying it can't be done, but it won't be easy. nothing is shared body-wise between wranglers and MJs so all the components will need custom brackets, other parts won't fit or may not reach where they need to. It'll be a challenge for sure. maybe even fun if you're up to the task. take lots of pictures as you go!

and if you're nervous about flaring them, I've redone 2 trucks so far, one where I flared my own, and another where I used the pre-made straight lines from the auto part store. Just be sure to use the proper bending tool so they don't kink. while you're replacing lines, it's also a good time to remove the rear prop valve and upgrade to the dual booster from a late model Jeep. Just do it all at once.

Liberty 8.25! disk brakes and a couple inches wider.

best part of running new lines (aside from the fact they won't be all brittle like the old) is that you don't have to follow the factory curves. just make sure nothing will get snagged or crushed.
