  1. you may need to contact them directly.
  2. if the CAD is unlocked, the ring gear spins, the spider gears do their thing and all the force from the driveshaft is transmitted to the inner half of the pass axle shaft which spins furiously but the power goes no where.
  3. might be time to verify the gear ratios. the fork won't stay put forever. you need to either flip the housing or use a hose clamp on the shaft to keep the collar in place.
  4. absolutely! if it turns out to be any different than the 231, we'll make a new row for it.
  5. Jeep did away with it in the early 90s. I would follow the lines back to the t-case and plug them there so you don't have a vacuum leak in the future.
  6. success! I had a burnt out motor, but as it so happens I grabbed a spare from the junkyard so all is well. if anyone was curious, the motor/gear assembly doesn't swap left to right, but the motors themselves can be popped out and swapped. next up: ABS computer swapping
  7. the vacuum actuator (CAD: central axle disconnect) is a super common failure point. see the link in my sig for a couple writeups on how to bypass it and never have that problem again.
  8. need a rear driveshaft measurement, center of ujoint to center of ujoint. swb,_2.5,____ax5-ax4,______np231,___ d44= ________ d35= _________
  9. need a rear driveshaft measurement, center of ujoint to center of ujoint. lwb,_4.0,____ax15-ba10/5,__2wd,___ d44= ________d35= _______
  10. glad you found it!
  11. my truck is notorious for getting a little bit of corrosion film buildup between the battery terminals and the cables. juuuuust enough to kill the power. gotta regularly pop them off and clean the connection surfaces with steel wool.
  12. one window down (then up, then down, then up again ). ran out of energy and light today so I'll tackle the other tomorrow. past-me seems to have unplugged the wire harness to the rear window switches (which are in the center console not the doors) and forgot to leave a note for present-me, soooooo that was a whole debacle-and-a-half trying to figure out why there wasn't power to the rear windows.
  13. Pioneers were middle of the road, 87-92. Chief was a bit above it. the Eliminator and Laredo were top tiers in the years they were offered. 4wd and skids were options on any trim level, but the majority of MJs of any trim were 2wd. which is a shame but that made them cheaper I gurss. My 88 was a 2wd Pio with vinyl buckets and the 3/4 gauge cluster. pure middle of the road.
  14. how much rust?
  15. nothing to see here. just loading up some new Vegas.
  16. custom = base model for 86: custom, X, XLS
  17. the parts stores should carry some adapters and pre-made lines for those who are shy about flaring your own. there is no good reason why everyone hasn't done this by now!
  18. if it's rust free, it's worth saving for sure.
  19. which buckets? MJ buckets go right in (except for the female seat belt end that won't have the plastic sheath that holds it up). most 84-95 XJ buckets can be bolted to your current floor brackets. or you can get creative with any ol' buckets you find in the junkyard. each will take a different adaptation approach though.
  20. yeah, looks like a solid platform to customize to your liking.
