Well it's a 1987 with 95,000 miles. The story is it's a one family owned vehicle. The kids bought it for their mother new in '87. The son got the truck in 2013. with 84k miles. Pictures are a bit deceiving, it has rust on cab corner and rockers though the frame seems solid. Drivers floor was repaired with so so quality. No AC so I'm going to want to add that in the future. My plan is to keep it reasonably stock maybe with a few updates from later models if it makes sense. Reliable daily driver is what my goal is. I think I paid a bit too much at $5,200 but it was local so I didn't have to factor in transport. My Tacoma was losing $1000-$2000 per year in depreciation. The way I look at it if I invest that much per year in restoration I'm ahead of the game. Looking forward to the advice and camaraderie here on the forum. Some of the threads said the C2C are not stamped and the fit requires a LOT of rework. Stamped rockers are said to be the ones to get. Hoping someone can clarify and steer me in the right direction.

I just bought a 1987 Comanche that has rusted rockers. I've researched rocker replacement and every thread seems to be several years old. I'm hoping for some updated info and guidance. From what I've learned is that OEM are NLA (of course). There were some who said that you could use stamped rockers from XJ 2-4 door. I also read someone mention that MJ rockers are taller than XJ by 1 inch. Is that so? I don't mind a bit of modification trimming, fitting, but not if it's not right. Can someone please recommend the rockers to buy. Perhaps even a link. I have no intention of going offroad so the 2x6 tube doesn't interest me. Thanks Richard

I've always liked the Jeeps and specifically the Comanche's. After trading in my Tacoma I needed a Pickup for around the house. Not being satisfied with the more modern pickups I considered the older F100's I need something that the wife can take over driving duty on occasion and when I saw this Comanche for sale one town over I grabbed it. It's going to need some work to bring it up to snuff but it's completely reasonable project for me to tackle. I look forward to reading the forums and for all the help to come from this wonderful community. First project done: Replace that Fred Flintstone wooden bumper.

I'm hoping someone can give current recommendations on the best fitting. Bar anybody else inputting, these will be what I buy. Thanks

I know the thread is close to four years old but could someone update with information that is current? I'm new to the Comanche Club and many things change in 4 years. Please help a newbie avoid pain and frustration with poor fitting parts. Thanks

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I'm a proud new Comanche owner and I need help sourcing some sheet metal patch panels. I need to replace the rockers and one cab corner. I've searched the forum without much luck on finding WHO makes the best fitting rockers??? Also WHERE can I buy passenger cab corner repair panel??? I've read a lot of informative threads and look forward to being a part of the community. Thanks.
