  1. assuming I remember, yes.
  2. sounds like part of your issue could be a bad ground at the drivers side taillight. the fuel pump and the brake lights ground to the same spot back there. also I moved your topic to Tech so more eyes will see it.
  3. send me a message with a name/address
  4. what you have now will surely dictate the easiest course of action. the HO swap is pretty straightforward. remove everything from MJ, install everything from XJ. there are some hiccups, but nothing that hasn't been tackled many times before.
  5. did they carefully remove the engine and trans? or did they snip a bunch of vital wires and crush the fuel lines?
  6. you'll need to source a 4wd manual trans, that's all. what are the plans for the truck?
  7. that is a lot of lift. this is going to be awesome!
  8. that was a factory option
  9. what you need to do to the truck depends on what you want to do with the truck. Have you thought about hitting up car shows?
  10. 10w30 full synthetic is the new guideline from Chrysler, but the old oil spec will also work as long as it's not the synchro eating GL-5. where's that update?
  11. nice! are the bumper lights on a separate switch?
  12. ahhh, the assembly phase. when a project really start coming together. (literally!)
  13. neat! using what process? plastic? fiberglass? what companies?
  14. it's been decades now. who's to say those ones are still stock? If they were lowered, I'd love to see some sort of evidence.

that is a valid concern. the heavy things do indeed sink to the bottom.
  16. correct. bone stock trucks with a trim package. unless you count any lowering due to the sheer weight of all that plastic.
  17. huh. Bilstein's own website only list 4600s for rears of stock XJs, nothing for MJs or fronts of XJs. maybe they are discontinuing them?
  18. My rocker guards are welded to the frame. maybe this sort of strategy will help hold the new rocker steel firmly in place? rust is still a concern though. getting paint to remain on the inside (underside?) of the sheetmetal after it's welded up tight to the new steel is a challenge.
  19. what are the specs of your truck? what are your goals for the truck? welcome to the club!
  20. turbos make everything better. it really looks factory in there. I remember when the Libby blew an air hose and I lost all my boost. felt like I lost half my horsepower

very nice! I don't have the funds to step up to an all-out tool backpack yet, but I'm learning how tough regular ones can be (I get them at resale shops). first was a schmuk kid's backpack that didn't last 2 junkyard trips before the seams started to come apart and the sharper tools poked through. Next was a "" kids backpack (jansport?) that lasted maybe a few months. Now I'm on a Swiss brand backpack that is doing quite well. If it ever dies I've got a military backpack that's next in line. I don't carry everything since it's just a junkyard bag not my main bag, but rather I throw in the likely things I'll need and leave the rest in the Jeep for if I need reinforcements. boy do I wish for individual tool pockets!

ick. honda rims. what a depressing way to go.
  23. be careful about the steel that the 1/4" is welded to. they tend to re-rust and separate from the thick steel.
