  1. it'll grow back. I've lost a few nails over the years. not a whole toe though.
  2. I find it interesting that he used an XJ instead of a pickup truck. but I get the feeling that it was made out of what was on hand at the time.

    wake up call

    dang, dude.

    Leaf springs

glad to hear the good news!
  5. Neither am I, but that hasn't stopped me from designing my own stuff with a drill/grinder and then hauling it over to a local pro for final welding.
  6. I originally had it in the "back away from the welder" thread but I think this contraption deserves its own thread.
  7. far as I know they should go right in.
  8. It's a Jeep. they are supposed to have scars and stories
  9. filter is under the truck. ground is behind the drivers side taillight. also there is a harness connector under the truck near the taillight that is known for corrosion issues. the ground runs through it. I ended up splicing a ground into the harness right near the pump at the frame for a better connection. If you haven't done them yet, the link in my sig has a link to Cruiser's MJ tips and you should do all that apply (most deal with the poor wiring design)
  10. fuel filter? have you checked the condition of the pump's ground behind the taillight?
  11. if that door opens, I'd keep driving it
  12. pretty sure that's one of those reused codes. would be awesome if it was true though!
  13. you can also buy the tint and apply it yourself. It requires some "being careful" but it's not rocket science. plus you can practice on the old windows.
  14. for rear windows you can spray paint them black if you wanted. The law doesn't care. it might vary state to state, but front window tints usually are fully banned past factory levels. But it's Florida. The sunshine state. I seriously doubt you'll even get a bat of the eye from a trooper. The biggest concern is how dark do YOU want it. going too dark can have nighttime visibility issues.
  15. oh so very cleeeeeeean...
  16. it's not impossible to fab your own patches. plus POR-15 can be used on anything you can reach but don't want to cut out.
  17. gorgeous truck!
  18. it kills me a little every time I see someone diving into the rust repair and not pulling up the frame caps, gotta do it right!
  19. great work! I think that MJ really lucked out when you bought it. feel free to post your favorite videos in the DIY forum and I'll integrate them into the master DIY list as I get time.
  20. I know how ya feel. I recently had to part with my '00 Dakota R/T in order to fund my newest MJ purchase (both were 1-owner trucks with low miles). I still regret it, but I don't live the DakRT lifestyle, I live the MJ lifestyle, and so it made sense to change up part of my truck herd. Your new truck looks like a sold purchase! welcome to the addiction
  21. welcome to the club! you should post up an intro in the Pub though, as way more eyeballs will see it.
