they aren't that bad. they are just work lights with a wide beam to illuminate around the jeep for turning on dark country roads.

oh, and the front lights work again!!

I'm under this thing so often I'm not sure I could miss it the knock turned out to be a loose rim (the one I removed to fix the dust shield apparently didn't get retightened with the lug wrench), and the AC works again (though I'm not sure if me messing around in the dash fixed it or if it's intermittent, only time will tell). and the weird stain on the junkyard hood is gone! I hit it with some rubbing compound and it has disappeared like magic. poof! Didn't take out the stone chips or hail damage though.

no one wants a repair book to stash in the truck?

seems someone didn't strap those down quite well enough. that's going to be an interesting conversation when he gets to his destination...

lots of negativity in the world right now so I thought I'd share that I watched a hummingbird taking a shower in my sprinkler today. He would follow the spray across the yard and then fly to a branch to shake and preen. Then do it all over again. and as I was watching that, I noticed this little guy hiding in the top of the hummingbird feeder for the day.

drove in to town today. nothing fell off, but the AC wouldn't work, there's a humming noise at speed that changes pitch when the suspension flexes (guessing front shafts because the operating angle has changed) and in the last 1/4 mile at 25mph I heard a loud thwack-thwack-thwack-thwack noise (once per tire revolution). oh, and I can't hear the subwoofer at all with that tiny amp. 2 steps forward, one step back. but when accelerating from a stop she's MUCH better with those 4.10s

back in the day I rocked a 30 some gallon tank. added some bits to make it look like a pond. all fake plants.

not sure if they are snatched before I get there or they broke long ago, but the pulls are usually missing at the junkyards. I didn't see a single one in my stash when I was organizing.

almost forgot, I added a bit of bling to the Jeep. bought this exhaust tip like 20 years ago but never used it until now. had to trim the tip of the pipe and a bit of the plastic bumper but it fits nicely in there.

did some measuring last week and ordered 10 ft of bigger speaker wire. today it arrived and I used every last inch of it. either I'm very good at measuring or I'm insanely lucky. tonight I'll put the dash back together and tomorrow morning I'll take a drive into town and we'll see how far I get.
