weight considerations are definitely important. Years ago my cousin decided he was sick of being huge (300#) and bought himself a super cheap used bike. Then one day he stripped the teeth right off one of the gears and messed up his leg when it happened. But the bike lasted long enough to get him hooked and so he spent way more coin on its replacement and still has it to this day. (he ended up losing 140 pounds between riding to work every day and cutting back on his eating/drinking) My mountain bike is ~20 years old now. all this newfangled technology and comfortable ride is foreign to me.

I had a bit of polish left from my headlight kit so I tried my best and it's better, but yeah no miracles. I'll try something else next chance I get.

the other day I went back to the junkyard and grabbed the 3" lift leafs from that XJ. not the whole packs, just the Super lift leafs. today I spent waaaay too much time outside sweating and didn't even get one side finished. hopefully tomorrow I can wrap it up and see where it sits. the hope is for about the same height but with an overall stiffer pack. other items on the to-do list: -remove all the random brake lines -install some turbine rims -replace the rusted spare tire carrier with a functional one -I'd love to rewire it up with a 7-wire loom so I can power for in-bed lights

step one tackling the cooling/AC issue is complete. I made a little jumper and can turn the fan on hi-speed with it. no test drive yet to see if that fixes it. (spent the day doing other things)

so any day now my shipping boxes will be here so I'm starting the process of cleaning up my gauge clusters. some of them are nice, while others are pretty scratched up. is it as simple as polishing up like I would a headlight? what has worked for you guys?

if your seat bolts aren't rusty, you can even pull the seats out and then have plenty of access to the door card.

been there, done that. turns out you can indeed get the inner panel off if you're desperate enough. but you can try a slim jim style tool first.

I was a few days away from seeing them in concert when everything closed down.

so after days and days of the rains juuuuust missing us, we finally got hit. and sure enough, little man still hanging out in the feeder right outside the living room window took note and started croaking

these are the 2 I have. note the bolt holes aren't quite the same. the lower elongated holes in the pic are the frame holes, the holes to the left on the parts are the crossmember holes. on your Jeep there should be some hexagonal shaped holes for each of the 4 mounting bolts' press in nuts.

yeah, she's been sitting a long time and the battery was out for a good chunk of that so I'm hoping all is "normal".

you say that now.... swapped in the ABS wires. what a pain in the butt. never did get the drivers side connected because digging into that side of the engine bay is a project unto itself, but it doesn't matter because apparently I only need the one. so speedo/odo works again. the AC worked great at the start of the day and diminished in effectiveness as I drove along. when I got to Lowes I checked and the E-fan wasn't doing a thing so I pulled a relay and it now runs on low speed. didn't really help much as the air coming out of the vents was still barely cooler than the 91* outside. the trans is shifting a little weird so after it cools down I'll check the fluid level. I also need to pull the battery cables and see if that resets anything (gotta pull the battery anyways to get at that other ABS connector) but that is all for another morning because I'm not working in this heat for something I don't need right now.
