so it's well seasoned

went to get a load of dirt in the ol' 86 Metric ton. the dirt turned out to be quite wet and the truck went straight to the bumpstops front and rear. shockingly enough the dang thing still moved forward, so I headed out with my new MJ lowrider. fortunately it was an easy 2 miles to the subdivision (@ like 20mph).

that's pretty epic right there.

where you can find parts depends a lot on exactly which part you need. the auto store will have the majority of things you'll generally need. body parts are harder to come by, especially the MJ-specific ones out back

welcome to the addiction. be sure to add your baby to the registry so you get a build sheet and birthday. how tight is your s-belt? how old is it? have you pulled it off and spun the individual bearings yet?

still kicking myself for missing the last show. it just fell right on another trip. but now that I have a specific date in mind, we can plan around it to keep it open.

I can tell ya I'd for sure still have my Dakota R/T rc if I had no MJs.

you've summed it up quite well there. as the guy not writing the check, I say go for it. how hard can it be? what about dropping the body on a modern dodge frame?

how are all your other projects doing?

carpet is only made by ACC (auto custom carpets?). all others are resellers so find whichever has the best deal or that you trust might actually ship in a timely manner. for headliners there's a guy in our Vendors' part of the classifieds that makes new ones. how clean are your floorboards?

moved to tech for ya. do you currently have the carpet and overhead liner in your truck?

nothing beats running a dedicated new breaker and a box in the garage right where you need it.

as is the case with all our fallen CC friends, I've been reading back through some of his posts as a sort of trip down memory lane. I really miss that guy.

are you using the renix computer and the renix tone ring around the clutch?

the condition of the body matters most. the big steel and aluminum bits underneath are far more easily replaceable.

that's why I had to get more MJs. the first one stopped be able to be used as a truck when the bed filled up with offroad-y bits.

these trucks rot from the inside out. we're very serious when we say you should find an alternative winter driver. a single winter in the salt can find allllll the scratches in the paint and start a process inside the rockers and frame that you do not want to have to undo.
