  2. progress is being made. can't say I'm halfway though since the top half is 5 times harder to do.
  3. innnnteresting... nothing at all from about 10-12 years ago? this info sure spread like wildfire for not having any official paperwork behind it. on the other hand, I've not heard any complaints from people running the motor oil so I guess it's ok.
  4. ask jdog or eaglescout, I bet they can look up the tsb for ya.
  5. I... don't remember. I kinda want to go back with a steering wheel puller. if I do I'll check. I kinda have a pile of them already.

  9. I sacrificed my amp gauge to do that very thing 20 years ago before I knew better. now I have a full cluster. soooo much easier. you can even alter the odo to match the truck.
  10. sorry bout that. usually jdog or eaglescout have looked it up by now. I'll send 'em a message.

  13. an intriguing question. you should probably post that in Tech so more eyeballs will see it
  14. reliability is only one of the aspects that make it a less desirable choice than the LS. but I am all for creativity. take lots of notes and snap lots of photos! If it's as easy as you hope, maybe it'll catch on Lord knows there are a ton of Grands in the junkyards these days.
  15. as long as the links and coils don't contact, you're good to go.
  16. questions from the OP should really go in the Tech forum. not everyone reads the projects and so more eyes will see the Q over in Tech and thus increase the chances of finding the right answer. I do know that the brakes changed at some point and are not swap-able, but I don't remember what the cutoff was.
  17. MJ beds aren't known for being perfect rectangles. they have a bit of a wide butt.
  18. have you tried car-part.com yet? they should be able to locate you a junkyard transmission.
  19. that looks pretty dang good. what lights are you installing?
  20. there are definitely reasons why there are a whole mess of v8 swaps in the Epic Tech forum and none of them are 4.7Ls.
  21. the current mopar recommendation for AX-15 oil is, I believe, Full synthetic 10w40? that or 10w30
