made some banana chips over last night. 7.5 hrs seems about perfect for my tastes. no longer sticky, but still chewy. like little banana flavored gummies.
  3. 76 now!
  4. I see a whole truck full of good parts!
  5. no hurries, I'm just happy to hear you're doing good.
  6. they are pretty rare. what specifically did you want to know?
  7. the manual transmissions never got the 242 as an option from the factory. neither did 2.5Ls. so the 21 spline 242s would only be from the 87-90 auto XJs that got the Selectrac box checked. they are pretty rare. all XJ 242s starting in 91 would be 23 spline. I cannot speak to any other brand of truck that might have gotten the 242.

I've been trying everything in it. from dehydrating apple slices, to reheating my salmon, to crisping up my baked potato (that I mostly nuked), to simple warming up my sliced turkey for my sandwich. it makes everything better. I think to night we'll be having tater tots. I think I've been looking forward to them the most.
  9. is it 2wd? sounds like a great time to invest in those resources. only takes basic hand tools (if the truck isn't all rusty) and maybe a helper to assist with dropping/installing the trans. and if you want to swap out the master first to see if it had an internal failure, that's even easier!
  10. yes. that's the early slip output. starting around I believe 96 they switched to a sealed rear output. it's a good upgrade because it allows you to pull the rear shaft without losing all your t-case fluid. but other than that it's all the same 231. the rubber boot is in the way, but see how the aluminum stops and the output shaft sticks out? on yours the rear shaft itself provides teh sealing of the t-case.

neodymium. surprisingly strong. but still quite affordable in the smaller sizes. I picked these up off of ebay. I've got some quarter size ones too which are strong enough to hold to your hand if one is on top of the hand and the other in your palm. get them big enough and they start to become dangerous if mishandled.
  12. woo-hoo! she looks fantastic!

um, ok. here's 48 tiny magnets
  23. can you share a pic of the rear output where the driveshaft meets it? need to know if you have a sealed output or not.
  24. if you have a 4.0 with a 95 transmission, then you have a 23 spline shaft.
