  1. Why do you feel the need for 34s or 35s? It's only 1/2" or 1" more ground clearance respectively. Not exactly a deal breaker out on the trails, but that extra inch makes a world of difference in the MJ's wheel wells.
  2. Not that we know of. I guess that then the trans could have been swapped in. It's a direct swap for the 4-speed.
  3. :hmm:
  4. That could work. Or keep an eye on the junkyards. I picked up a nice one in Ohio for my 90 while I was there for something totally different. Any time I'm at a junkyard I ask if they have any Jeeps out back. car-part.com may be helpful in locating MJs. Just pick MJ-specific items like tail lights or rear axle or seats, then call those yards to find out if the headliner is still there.
  5. Front shaft should be fine. Yes, it's the AW-4. Shop us a picture of your leafs. Some guys have thought they had a big ton, but it turned out that the previous owner shoved some random AAL in there.
  6. and that's why I made my own stuff. :D
  7. If you've got the cash to do it, a SYE is still a very good upgrade.
  8. I'll ask Qui Gon-Jinn to look into it.
  9. I seem to remember a couple minor grounds in the engine bay that attach to the fenders. But I might be thinking of another vehicle.
  10. Just don't use the t-case drop kit. It's really only for XJs anyway.
  11. The suspension is the same, but the lower control arm mounts are different (and a real pain to cut off). They have an extra brace on them. Also there's an extra mount holding the transmission crossmember up and the frame is a bit different. These don't really come into play with a short arm lift, but can with a long arm lift.
  12. Claytons makes a good long arm system too. When looking for longarms, it's important to make sure the manufacturer knows about the differences between the XJ and MJ.
  13. He's got a 2wd, so he'll likely only get 5.5" in the rear (6.5 over current height, but 2wd leafs sit one inch lower than 4wd leafs so when matching up with front coils, think of it as closer to 5" of lift). Don't forget about axle strength and gear ratios.
  14. The short term "fix" is to strap it up so the thick bar is parallel to the ground. That's about the neutral position and if it works at all, that's where it should be for an empty bed..
  15. Stacks can be cool if it's a diesel, but generally regarded as poor if on a gas rig. But aside from that, it can really cause problems. The fumes can easily come back into the truck. The hot pipe is right there where you can burn yourself or cargo in the bed. The noise will not be insignificant. :(
  16. I moved it for ya.
  17. bump so I can find it and move it to the DIY forum
  18. Top o' the bellhousing on the drivers side
  19. If it doesn't smell like antifreeze, than it's not likely antifreeze. I've used green washer fluid before.
  20. My little canon has the typical "macro" setting. but then has an additional "magnify" setting. I can get insanely close to things.
  21. Thanks guys, you gave me an excuse to try out splitting topics. Worked ok the second time. The first time I'm not sure where the posts went to. :hmm: But I seem to have it down now and can split off individual posts instead of just deleting them. Good to know. Anywho, sorry to go all boy scout on you, but please try to understand that younger kids do read this stuff. It was funny mind you  , but still a bit over the line. Also I'd imagine the chances are pretty good that she might one day find this site (we are on the internet ya know ;) ) and most of those comments were not exactly keeping with rule # 1.
  22. Down towards the bottom it shows how to change them: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1556
  23. It's happened before. Without going too much into the details (mostly because I don't fully understand them all), someone else they host did something stupid to suck all the available bandwidth.
  24. Does it smell like antifreeze? If it's actually antifreeze, I'd siphon it out. I don't think it'd hurt the paint, but I'd also not take any chances. Plus I'm allergic to the dang stuff and don't want it all over the place. :shake:
  25. That should be do-able. Feel free to bring over any of the other random missing parts if you won't need them.
