  1. Speaking from experience, tires sticking out that far do throw up quite the rooster tail of water.
  2. Don't worry, it's perfectly harmless (or so I'm told). As I understand it, that's google's automated system poking around and saving info for their search engine database. I have an admin page for controling the auto-bots (my term for it, not theirs :D ). I can even turn them off if I so desire.
  3. Safety standards, production difficulties, or even that the JK was designed first, there are many many reasons for why concept vehicles don't quite match their production counterparts. Wussiest gatling gun ever. I swear it shoots BBs instead of bullets. :shake: I'd take the cannon too.
  4. Definitely look into the prop valve. But they are trucks after all. There's not much over the rear tires so don't expect miracles. Some weight should do you good. Do make sure that your load is secured. You don't want a minor accident causing anything to come up and greet you.
  5. If you have any doubts about your shocks, then it's likely time to replace them. I liked my gas-charged Monroe sensatracs (i think that's what they were called). Shocks are like oil filters, you do get something for your money. Just don't buy the cheapies and you'll be fine.
  6. You're just leaving it on the side of the road? :hmm: And you should post that in the classifieds. :teehee:
  7. Do you think something like this would work?
  8. Ask someone to post up a formal writeup.
  9. How long would the AX-5 survive?
  10. A requirement for the DIY forum is that the first post must be the post with the step by step instructions.
  11. My experience with rust is that nothing will stop it once it's there. :( I have not tried the POR yet, and have high hopes for it come springtime. :D
  12. Unfortunately, the answer to most of those questions will be "depends", and then we'd ask the owner what his/her goals and skills are and then we can skew our answers to meet their specific needs. Besides, I like talking to the new guys/gals.
  13. A 95 Dakota rear line works great and is a bit longer than stock.
  14. Shim the CAD to be engaged all the time and you'll eliminate that as a cause for sure.
  15. It's probably not anything most people have in their garage. I believe it's a fine thread metric. But I too don't have any lying around to check. :(
  16. Got a photo? :brows: And what is the reason you need the year?
  17. Yeah, that one has me stumped and I haven't found a solution. Personally, I use the scroll wheel to open in new tabs (I also use Firefox).
  18. I don't know what blackjack is, but I once used roofing tar in my 88 and I can assure you that it is NOT to be used anywhere on a vehicle. What a mess it made. :( and it never did harden. It just remained a sticky, gooey mess. :fs1:
  19. Did you try Metric sizes?
  20. It's relatively straight forward as long as you have the proper tools. It's a looong procedure though. A good weekend for me. Spray down the bolts with PB Blaster for days ahead of time. Be prepared that the head weighs a lot. Or at least it seems to when it's in the middle of the engine bay. :shake:
  21. I bought an 8mm ratcheting box wrench just for those 4 bolts. Makes life soooo much easier.
  22. An AX-15 can last practically forever, but they are susceptible to synchro degradation from using the wrong gear oil. Current specs call for 10-W40 engine oil and not the old gear oil (which has compounds in it that eat away at the bronze bushings). Rebuilding one is supposedly pretty straightforward but I've never done one yet. Step one is making sure the trans has enough oil in it. Check the t-case too. It takes ATF oil.
  23. Keep pulling up that floor insulation. I found more rust in my otherwise rust-free 90 as I went up under the dash. :( This is just more proof that ANY MJ in any condition in any location is susceptible to to carpet rot. :fs1:
  24. In france it is. Canard is a french word for duck. A canard is also one of those little winglets on some planes.
  25. The offroad package included the skidplate package, but the skidplate package was available separate. (I'm looking at the 88 dealership brochure, other years may be slightly different)
